Every day? That would be my sunshine husband.

For today, though, was driving my teardrop home from our first trip! :D

Generally just being given another day on this wonderful planet puts a smile on my face. :)

My lovely Bride of 35+years is another.

No one thing.
We smile and laugh a lot.
Very little to be unhappy about.
Beautiful day, the rising sun is sparkling on the bay. 75 is the forecast. Might go fishing, might work on the Teardrop, might go downtown and make a nuisance of myself.
For now this coffee I am slurping is just about the best I have ever tasted as the first one of the day usually is.

It's all good.

Take it easy.

A smile was on my face today when I thought about tomorrow being our first official day of retirement. On Thursday I left the shop at 2PM and picked up my wife from her job at 4:30PM and we were done forever. It will take a while to stop smiling from that.
And then today I went out and opened the teardrop for a check and all was in order, just waiting to taken somewhere without having to "put in" for vacation.

- I slept through most of the night and even slept in a little, waking up rested. What a blessing!
- My dog rolled over for a tummy rub and a grin. (He slept in, too!)
- All the beautiful green colors of spring growth, as I looked out the window.
- A phone call and chat with a dear friend.
- The grin of a fellow forum member who had just found the friends & foes feature. :D
- The day isn't over yet!

Brwbier,

Best wishes in your retirement.
Being retired does take a bit of getting used to but I am sure you will learn quickly. It can take all of a day or three so be patient.

Take it easy.

Well, I too get a smile on my face when I wake up to a beautiful day like we had today!
And being a special day "Easter Sunday" I was personally blessed with having all my kids with me for the day along with both of our grandchildren for an easter egg hunt in the sun, brunch, and family time out in the yard all day. Drinking a little wine and doing some spring gardening. First day here in the 20's this year.
And Retirement! Just 29 days away for me!!! :applause:

Brian,

Sounds like a good one. Good to have the family hanging out with you.
That 29 days is going to take forever, you know that of course.

Take it easy.

With as much as I have to do in that time period it will be gone in the blink of an eye.........as that is how the time seems to go for me at work these days.
The two hardest things that I have ever had to wait for were: turning 16 and getting my drivers licence and waiting thru this past winter for camping season to start so we can take Miss Piggy out for her maiden voyage and meet the new friends we have made here on the Forum!!!!

Nothing brought a smile to my face today reason you want a reason?

as most of you know I'm old and getting older, I had a birthday March the fourth I turned 71

as you get older you forget things like, did I take my pills, where's my glasses, what am I doing in the kitchen and why am I here.

Ohio drivers license are good for four years I got mine back in 2009 see where I'm headed, today is march 31 my birthday was march 4th

my drivers license expired 27 days ago, I call the BMV their advice was drive very carefully on the way there.

so Monday April 1st I will head into town first to get new license then to insurance company
to get approval for new truck windshield that was hit by a stone from snow plow last week.
then to Lowes for a new freezer.

so to answer your question, your question made me smile today.

Pete :)

My friends and family don't get it, but my vintage VWs make me smile. And because I can see them from my retirement chair, I get to smile all day long.
