Benroy Bunk Beds?

Postby tscarbroughdc » Tue Jun 18, 2013 10:38 pm

Do any of you have the inside pics or plans to put a bunk bed into a teardrop? I have 5 year old twins and am trying to figure out a neat inside option for them to sleep and me have the main bed to myself!

Thank you!

We are having our 5x10 built without interior storage and using that area for a bunk at the foot of the bed (galley side) that is the width of the cabin and 36" deep with 20" clearance to the ceiling. (We should be able to do this without any sacrifice to the galley.)We have two young boys and we are quite a short family, so we should fit. My 5 year old actually wants to sleep UNDER the bunk at the foot of the bed.... we'll see how that works out!

As far as storage, we are going to have some under the floor and will have to make due putting clothes in strategic locations.

Anyhow, when they are older, we plan on putting them in a tent.

p.s. we are new to teardrops, so don't trust me that this plan will work!

What I did was make a loft for one of the kids.

One thing I felt sure of was that I wanted the kids located at my FEET and not my HEAD! First off, the kids go to bed before me and can be tucked away so I can sit up and read with having a light on them. Second, if they fall, I want them on my legs, not my HEAD!
