That's exactly the sort of color scheme I'd like for mine - looks really nice but doesn't stick out the way a white box does

Instead of just a board to cover the ends of the stringers, why not a skirt ?
(OSB offcuts wrapped in canvas schmaybe ?)
Plenty of creative options there...

Mel, Almost ... and then we do the inside ... with the wife helping ... :frightened:

KC, Schmaybe’ @ 50’ ?? ...

Eagle , ribs are there when you want them ... shipped flat packed ... I’ll ask about the $$ .. again... (note” this was not the Easiest trailer to build , but if you can round up your Helpers , it should go pretty quick) ... My next build will be a SIMPLE Foamie ‘ ;)

W2, doesn’t show the dirt as bad as white , and helps burn off the excess moisture better than white ... an important consideration here... :o A Skirt ??? :NC

Just got back from the Wal Mart ... got the Bar style LED light kit as Steve suggested ... BRIGHT !!! :o

The bottom of a motorhome body actually stops at the vehicle's frame. The skirt just finishes off the sidewall and is just a flat panel that hangs down. If you put in a gusset right behind the wheel, it would stiffen a the skirt and would answer your mudflap question as well. I thought of it because it would add another place to get creative with lines and color. I wish I had your eye as far as that stuff goes - I know you could make something out of it that would look great.
It might give you better fuel economy as well, though not at 4mph bugout speed...
Maybe OSB wrapped in canvas & topped with a strip of quarter-round or cant-strip molding to shed water...you haven't mentioned dragging this to Poet Creek or anything like that  so you wouldn't rip them off on rocks or ditches like I did when I took mine off the moho (one on purpose, one not so much).

A thousand words:

If you decide to go that way, I would taper them from the lowest points at the wheel well all of the way up to the existing front and back floor level (for approach and departure angles), then radius the wheel well around the tire and lower corners.

Yep, that's exactly what I mean. It'll give you the chance to play around with that lower line a bit. If you look at the moho ones, they are shaped so they don't catch on anything (like KC said).
How you get there is where your artist's eye comes in.

I tried to find your 'locomotive' paint scheme to add the skirt to it in Paint but couldn't find it in your gallery.

It’s there now for you to play with ... 110273

Yeah , I got a bit carried away , all those suggestions are really important , radius-ing and all ...

We’ll have to save that project till the rest is done ... Still have to finish the basic paint first ... then the underside (black nasty stuff) , then the inside

Question: ... Wonder how long I should wait before taping over the painted canvas ??? ... Haven’t done that in “some time” ... don’t want to peel up the bottom layer ... :frightened:

I just caught up on your thread
She is looking good.

I would've loved to see this with a curved back end as well and a recess back door.
If you not going to add a skirt how about just painting the bottom Pink. Your wife likes the color and it matches your other trailer.

Looks really great! :applause:
The skirt would 'finish' the look.

Are you putting the lettering on the side?

I've been thinking about that for mine.
Vinal decals won't stick to a textured surface. Not to sure about freehand.
I think I might try silk-screening the name on the sides.

JB999 ... PINK !!!    :R

Second color going on ... first the taping ... the little pieces in between are just to help get them both parallel ...

Lettering ? Most important (graphic distraction) ... will stencil the design on and freehand over that ... ;)

GPW,
The colors for the FS are fantastic! Looks even more streamlined with the lower band and stripe.
Take care,
Tom
