finish your trailer in 2013?...post pics of it here!

Postby doug hodder » Tue Dec 31, 2013 11:52 pm

In the past we've done a thread on finished trailers of the year...Since this is the end of 2013...now is the time to post pics of your finished project that was completed in 2013. Just put up a couple of pics of the trailer...not a whole build journal, just so people can see what's new for this years projects.

While mine hasn't been out of the garage yet, it's complete right down to the curtains, quilt, decor etc...It's just sitting in the garage waiting for it's "coming out party" in March. I don't take anything out on the road unless it's "complete". This time it's a standy.

I know that there are a number of trailers finished this last year, now is the time to show us all what you have accomplished. A big congratulations to all of you that have completed one this last year. A project like this is a major undertaking and everyone should be proud in what they have built.

Please show it off so we can all see what you created. Give yourself a big pat on the back and a well deserved "atta Boy" or "atta Girl" as the case may be. Next step...take it out and really show it off to other campers...in the mean time, keep on building! Doug

John, that was my original intent, two pieces of coroplast, which would pass some light. Sadly, that wasn't rigid enough, so the final roof is 4mm coroplast over 3/16" masonite.

Started building in June and finished the bulk of the build by early December, recently put a few finishing touches (battery box, hinge clasps, curtains) and have a few more (battery, mattress and graphics) before taking out on its first of many trips in 2014

Here's my #5, licensed on May 1, 2013.
It has a removable tongue that affords us another foot in the garage and is a great security feature.
I made a removable rock guard and it sits on the "Y" of the tongue.

Our, new to us, 2006 Chevy Trail Blazer (tow vehicle) from a GSA auction.
I was pulling the guts out of the 99 Blazer (188,000 miles) as it started ticking at the Siskiyou summit.
It put up a good fight making it to Yosemite and home before I sold it. Possible wrist pin.
This one is a straight six and pulls the Teardrop much easier with the longer stroke.

:D Danny
