One of those wise old men once told me that paint would cover a multatude of sins(I've gotten to be a prettygood painter in the last 10 or 15 years) :lol:

In practice, not at all important once the sandwich is assembled. Good joints between the framing members will improve the overall strengh a bit, but it's highly unlikely you'll ever need that strength.

For example, it might stop the side from being blown in during a hurricane where the other side of the trailer was pressed up against a building (otherwise that sort of side pressure would just blow the trailer away) - but is this a big worry.........?

The time the quality of the framing joints is more important is if you are turning over the 'future sandwich' when it's only got one skin on it - then, the strength of the framing is quite important so, if you have poor joints, turn it gently with careful support.
