Thanks for asking, Mary! I have been posting the photos in my personal gallery so far- please have a look anytime- I wasn't sure if I should make a build thread or not- not sure what people usually do- and the one time I tried to put a photo in this thread, it told me the image was too big. :o When I resized my avatar picture (with some help from Mark, my partner in crime) it was so difficult that it took us 30 min to get the job done.

GPW, I like this idea of repurposing locally available materials. I have actually seen one tiny house that used burlap sacks like that as interior wall coverings, and it looked great! Mark has been bringing home armloads of insulation that they throw out at his work- the stuff that's like bubble wrap but silver on the outside. He feels sure that I will be able to use it-somewhere- in the trailer build. Inside the floor, maybe?

Apologies , for even mentioning it , but some things must remain a secret lest they become “common” and don’t work anymore ... :o Lets just say I can go in a Bar , drink all night for free, and come out with more money than I went in with ... and it does involve a good bit of skill ... well practiced ... and no it’s not gambling or any thing like that !!! ( hint: you must remember what I do for a living... ) The only Foam involved is at the top of the glass...

Sheryl, First go to "resize program" in the google search above, then check around for some resize program and download. Image magic is the one I use and it is super easy. I put two separate files on my computer desktop, one for the picture downloads off my camera and one for the resized pictures. then I just put them in my gallery. That is to make things simple.

GPW Shame on you, all those free drinks like my sons father in law when he needed money he would take bets on hot sauce, thats the way he made extra money he didn't have the Hot thingie in his body. he couldn't taste hot all the way down and out. He says nothing is hot, and I have seen him eat a hot pepper that would make most men sweat but didn't bother him. I know what your special talent is  I won't tell!!! :MLAS

GPW, all I can think of is Billy Joel in "Piano Man" and his friend the bartender who gave him his drinks for free...

Mary, I took another shot at resizing my photos in MS Paint. If it works, it will show the stage I'm at with the trailer. Fingers crossed.

Shar, That pic worked well. Another resizer program is PIXresizer (free) I do like Mary said and have two folders on the computer, one for the camera down loads and the other for the resized pics so I can post on here.

OK, here’s a Ridiculous idea... For some time now we’ve been using cotton bar wipes and Kitchen towels in the kitchen... and every so often the wife goes through them and tosses out the stained , frayed , older ones... which I grab up and toss into a pile , for use as rags around the studio. Now that we’ve collected so many , I thought , why not use them to cover a Foamie , and apply them like scales , for a “ Dragon “ effect ... :o .... :NC ( I think I’ve watched The Hobbit one too many times :duh: )

... each one measures ~15” X18” .. Hmmmmmm ??? Guess you could do the same thing with coffee bags ,old blue jeans , blankets , or whatever.. Plenty of room for a little Creativity ... after all it’s what distinguishes essentially one box from another... 8)

I like the dragon idea, now thats cool. I would cut the towels in a U shape. I can see it now GPW having a lot of visitors to see his dragon Teardrop. Yep I think it would be cool but  a lot of planning to get the stains just right!!! :NC I think I will leave that one for you GPW.

Mary , I dunno’ ... It could be Fun , and “thrifty” , and then a round Hobbit door would be nice , and some Big googly' eyes up on the front ... that would move around as you moved down the road .

Re: Hobbit (round) doors ... anyone wanting to see a good round door hinge , check out the Hobbit movie , where quite an extensive hinge system is shown , not only supporting the door at two hinge points , but the other hinge leaf extending from floor to ceiling on the vertical door frame ... :o Not Simple , an even sillier idea ... but Cool !!! 8) :NC

Hm, if we could use smaller pieces of cloth (such as towels) as trailer skins, this would open up a whole new range of materials for us. Has anyone done this before, I wonder?
