Welcome 88.... (wondering if that's for the 88 hiway that crosses the sierras) the 108 and 395 are my playground. Hope to cross paths. Good luck on the resto.

88 is an old NASCAR favorite. The number just stuck. We'll be cruising up 395 soon for a 3 day get away.Probably hit some ghost towns and check some tailings left by miners for some nuggets. I need to get some opinions on removing old paint and/or maybe putting a camo/desert wrap on my project.I might just let it look crappy on outside but make the kitchenette and sleeping area tops.So many choices and so little time.

Hello 88tears, welcome aboard. I just might have a web page that would help you make a decision on which way you want to go on restoring your KIT KAMPER. It shows the way I restored by rebuilding a 1946 KIT for my sister. Just click on the link below.

WOW-GREAT JOB- I wanted to do an easy restore but after seeing what you've done I have to ask.How long did that take? And do you take customers?
How much do you think you put into that project? Dale

It took me a year and a half and less than $2500 which included the purchase of the ‘Kit Kamper’ to start with. I somewhat took my time and also had other things going. But by taking your time and thinking things out you’re a happy camper when you get it finished with no regrets. The secret is not to set a completion date that you insist on making. That’s when you start taking short cuts and settling for something other than what you wanted. And if you have an idea, try it. The interior paneling and the white formica ceiling was an idea I came up with. With the groves running length wise and the white ceiling it gives the illusion that the inside is larger than what it is. ;)
