thanks for heating data, if your heating about 10 minutes per hour at 23 deg F
Thats about 2000 Btu per hour. not bad
Have not had anyone else give me any heating data yet...... but they all swear their insulation works great.
My temp only gets down to 32 ... but I do not need to add any heat at that temp so I have yet to develop
insulation vs. heating chart. In my new wood trailer vs. old metal I only have moisture problem
around the metal door edges. I have 4' ceiling, 3" walls and 2.5" floor & doors
Cheers OTTCT.
Thanks OTTCT, I had not even thought about my actual BTU's per hour! I just told my wife my estimate and she said she thought it was on for closer to 10 minutes per cycle. So maybe 2000-4000 per hour? When it comes to engineering, I'm more of a fly by the seat of my pants kind of guy.
Another useful calculation that I have not done is to figure out how much propane I use per day, or per hour. I'm sure that's an easy calculation when one knows the efficiency of the gas furnace, but I'm too lazy to figure it out

I have two, 5-gallon propane bottles mounted to my tongue. I fill them about "every few weeks", but my weekly propane usage varies a lot. Outside temperature, how many days a week we use the trailer, AND if we're hooked to shore power create a lot of variables.
