Thanks Frank
I made some progress on Kermit this weekend! :)
Welded in most of the panels I made trough out the week, along with more 110 boxes and a heater mount (just in case)....more is better??
Starting to realize that April 24th may be a pipe dream?? :( After taking an hour to make radio support mounts!
Having a lot of fun with tis build and hate the thought of rushing it ......just to have it finished for the Dam.
Anyway...the elephant continues to be eaten, one bite at a time! :applause:

Another week has gone by!
Progress has been steady (that means I have been moving forward) as I am trying to get something done on Kermit each day.
As it has already been said .....I am eating the elephant , one bite at a time! This is just a "Big" elephant. :R
VW van doors have been cut, tires have been ordered, rear fender s have been trial fitted, headliner bows have been cleaned and painted, aluminum has been purchased for drawers, door handles have been found and ordered off of ebay, both trunk latches (front and rear) have been cleaned and polished, 1949 International truck cab came under the torch and gave up its' roof for the project, and rusted rear trunk sill was remade and welded in.
Also "Pictures" have been taken, :pictures: but are piling up on the camera?????

This topic brings back memories of my old 1947 Chrysler Windsor coupe. That was a 5000lb tank of a car- flat head 6cyl. I did ring and valve job on it under an oak tree, hit the starter button and she cranked to life. The next day she was on the road for New Orleans (RT was 1700 miles in 7 days). Around 17mpg - only had a 6 to one compression ratio- they still had low octane cars in '47. The year was 1972 and I was 22 years old. I paid $200 for it and put another $500 in it- overhaul, tires and brakes. That was a lot of money back then.

Mine was a 37 Desoto Coupe! Bought when I was 16 in 1968. Sold it before I went to College.
Bought a 47 Plymouth Business Coupe in 1977, that I drove as my daily driver for a couple of years (newest car I owned at the time beside my 1949 Ford coupe I was working on in the garage). Had just sold my 1977 Mini.
Ahh the good old days!
Hey, maybe they were not that "Good"?? I still have my 49 Ford Coupe and 40 more cool toys????
And back then I didn't have a "Teardrop" so what the heck.......We are living the Good New Days!! :applause:

Hay Brian, progress is progress. I know what it is like, sometimes you can spend all day working on something, then stand back and think what have I achieve? Then the next day it all falls together.
You still haven't said, what are you doing with the dubby doors?

Yeah. I bet it is way easier to load and post pictures with one hand (... beer in the other  ) than it is to do the actual work one handed (...beer in the other  ), so logic dictates that posting photos is the same as drinking beer.

No pictures, no beer!
