I dropped by a local thrift shop and found this. It was blue tag day. It is date stamped 1986. I paid $10.00 for it. I didn't need it but you know the drill, Resistance is futile. Just for the heck of it, I took it to a local pawn shop to see what they would give me for it. The clerk asked if I had the fuel to test it out. I said that then it would no longer be "new in the box". He said that if I could not prove that it works, that he could only give me $5.00 for it. I asked what if I set it up and showed him that it worked. He said that then he would give me $10.00 for it. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.
D.J., that's a great find, new and in the box with a carrying case. Keep it! I am sure you'll get it to work, and if not, someone from the Coleman thread would snap it up in a minute.

What a deal! bravo, on your find. I have vivid childhood memories of that pump up Coleman lantern. Our neighbor had one and when we lost power on the farm from an ice storm we lived in their basement for a week- they had light from the Coleman lantern and a propane refrigerator- a real wood cook stove with an oven to bake bread and a hand pump for water- and flush toilet, too. For a couch they used the back seat out of an old car and I slept on it with my feet being warmed by the glow of a pot belly stove. I must have been around 8 years old.
