I acquired a home-built a few months ago that needed a lot of work to make it weather worthy. It was pretty solid, but leaked like a sieve. Some of the fit and finish left a lot to be desired. One door was warped so it couldn't fit, the hatch fit poorly, it was covered with fiberglass and painted without any sanding or filling, etc. A lot of refitting, adding trim and weatherstripping, filling and sanding has gotten me a lot closer to what I want. I also replaced the original axle and wheels and set the axle back 6 inches for better tongue weight. Now I'm looking forward to some gatherings and getting acquainted with other Teardroppers and getting new ideas about improvements.
