Howdy,

Well, as the topic says, "Introduce yourselves", here I am. My username here is "Pete T", seeing that I am a "Junior (same name as my Dad), I've been called RePete (that's what's on my trucks license plate). I'm from Charlottesville, Va and work at the University of Virginia.

I've been interested in Teardrop Trailers for quite a while now and after a few "life events" I'm now in a position where I want to build my own Teardrop Trailer with my Dad and hit the road.

So, there ya have it, that's the short story. I look forward to meeting folks here and am sure that I'll have lots of questions along the way.

Wish me luck,

Pete

Welcome back!........7 years ....1 post??
You are going to have to do better than that if you wish to meet some new friends here and extract the information you will need for your first Teardrop build. ;)
Remember these guys like pictures! :pictures:
Some of us like to follow other members build in the "Build Journal" section here on the Forum.
There is some great info in the "Electrical" section.
You can save a lot of money during your build if you do your homework, listen to some of the advice given here, and steer clear of RV dealers.
Decide what you need or want, and buy it on ebay or amazon (huge savings here) especially electrical components, lights, etc.
Enjoy the experience of the build with your Dad.........hope to see you guys down the road somewhere!

Thanks for the welcome here. As I mentioned (and you noticed) I've been a member here a good while. I would view a lot of the posts of other members and get a lot of ideas but other things always got in the way of starting to build a teardrop trailer. Well, there's nothing in the way now and I'm in the position now where I can do this. You're right, I am lucky to be able to do this with my dad. It'll be something that I'll always remember as long as I have the trailer.

I've already decided to do a build journal of the trailer along the way and try and document what we're going to do.

I appreciate all the information you have provided.

Thanks,

RePete

Well, todayI pulled the trigger and ordered the trailer kit from Northern Tool. I'm really excited about this project. I
've been doing a lot of reading here on the forums and have an idea of what I do and don't want. The best part about this
project is that Dad will get to show me a lot of what I should already know about this kind of thing. It's a shame I wasn't
more interested when I was growing up. Two skills I really wish I had learned growing up were welding and fiberglass.

So, when the trailer gets here I'll start the build journal. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the way. I really
appreciate everyone being friendly so far.

Thanks,

RePete

Pete T,
Welcome back to the active side. I enjoy seeing more and more Virginians coming on board. One from Roanoke the other day. Bob from VA Beach is here and iI am about two hours south of C'ville. I hope to see you sometime at a gathering. I have yet to make the first one and I looking forward to it.
Bob

True. I have been MIA again. However, I have been building my teardrop camper with my Dad as much as we can. We're making good progress. Too bad it's getting colder here in Virginia.

Hopefully you have an inside work space, so you and your dad can bond inside on those cold winter nights while working on the Teardrop.
