Hinged vertical panel right behind the water pump. 12 inches wide or so. Hinged at the bottom, locks at the top. Tilts forward. Limit tilt with small chain. Say 8-10 inches should allow access to the back as needed. Might need to lengthen the black dome light wires with butt connectors by a few inches but all the other wires should be ok.
I will need to buy 30-40 feet of that yellow 120 volt wire for the hood and AC though.

That's it! That's the ticket.

Info for you from the factory. You may know this already.
8-10 feet from the battery to the panel with #4 or #6 wire is <1% loss of voltage. a 10 gauge would be 3% which would be ok too he said but recommended 4-8 gauge for 10 feet of battery cable.

I also am pleased to understand that I can hook up outlets to this also and the device will know when to use shore or convertor for power. He EVEN SAID I could disconnect the battery all together and the convertor would still run my DC Stuff as long as Im hooked up to shore power. Cool.

I know many of you know this but it is all new to me! :)

Hey Tommy,
Well I'm glad to see you're getting your head wrapped around this electrical issue. It's great to see someone learn and grow, (and teach), and share. We are very blessed to have this site, and blessed to have you as well. I'm really glad you are here.
Thank you, Sir.

Tommy, Not sure if this will be helpful, but following is a high level schematic of how I will be hooking things up in my Toy Hauler. The drawing doesn't detail the parts, but I have a parts list.

Thanks guys. Flyboy I will review that over the weekend. Cant see it here at work.

Man what a newbie. Really clueless about so much. Research and development is fun but costly. I did not plan this but got sucked in some how. Like quick sand.

I am learning so much though.

I am going to install this tomorrow. I need to cut through the skin, then 1 inch of space and then the 3/4 plywood. Either way, its going to be difficult with the interior plywood preventing me from doing this like I want to. Wood backing directly behind the skin to screw the inlet into. That one inch space will allow the inlet to pull in the skin as its tightened to the interior plywood and seems like it will not be solid.
The only thing I can think of is I can still remove the right side interior plywood. Either the upper or lower piece. This would expose the frame and skin and I could brace it up proper BUT this would place the inlet clear on the other side. Near the door Maybe. But I really wanted the inlet to be on the left side and forward. Is that not really Possible?

Thanks.

The AC, hood and that receptacle are hard wired now and awaiting the Power center. I was hoping to bring in shore power near here. There Is already a small hole in the plywood from where the AC was routed previously. How can I do this? Cut away a 3x3 or 4x4 access through the 3/4 plywood and go that route??  Help.

Hey Tommy,
Your gonna want to put that outlet as close as possible to the power center, and batteries also. Shorter runs = less amps=less and smaller ga wires. also if you had to cut an access door inside, then put the ply/paneling against outer skin, then 30amp inlet, hopefully near power center, access door inside may come in handy. Where is your water inlet and poop dump located? A lot of times these are all close proximity on the left ( drivers) side.

McDave

Also, How deep is that inlet? looks more than 1". So maybe just longer screws and brace it inside of interior paneling?
I must be reading that wrong, your paneling isn't 3/4, right?

ugg, another azz kicker. hung a little crooked but I could straighten. Small concern. My wife has soo much patience with me. Could not have done it with out her.

Its THE best I could do and its solid if anything else.

Hey, at least you didn't install 3 circuits and have to trouble shoot each one before realizing that it works better if you add a fuse before testing the circuit. After the 3rd time I (er, I mean my friend) finally remembered :D

Oh Thank you. I guess I'm not the only one to slip up from time to time. Circuit breakers are not included and I will have to deal with that very issue. Something about doubling them up. 30/20 amp on the main and 15/15 on the branch circuits? I need to go to home depot and buy them. Also this power center is wired directly to the battery with small wires not the big thick cables like I have now going to the dc buss from the battery. How is that possible? And I don't think I can use that big perko battery switch now so no on and off switch?. will that suck the battery charger voltage too much?

Anybody??
Thanks.
