MARY K!!!! I've been trying to get in touch with you for months. Did you change your email address -- or are you avoiding me. :(

I've been dyiing to know what your're up to -- and if you still like Piña Coladas. :FNP

I've been gone from the forum for a long time, too. Maybe this is a TD&TTT renaissance. Who knows who might show up here next.

Maybe we can talk about something here besides tractors and mowers.

Mary K. does still love Pina Coladas.. :D

and I did do some more mowing… some with my Zero Turn.. and some with my old Cub Cadet. 8)

Laurie had taken Friday afternoon off, and we opted to do trail work vs trying to work on the barn. It was warmish and humid.. and working on a dark brown metal roof in the sun wasn't all that appealing. So we built another bridge. First glueing up some arched beams.. and cutting the decking to size here at the house. We got this bridge installed, and fixed the trail to and from it. We cut and removed some downed trees on other trails and did some string trimming on another short section of trail.

I had ordered new wheels for one of my bikes, and they were supposed to be in. [arriving Friday]. I called the shop.. and they didn't had not shown up.
I checked tracking and they are now not to arrive until Monday. :NC I didn't really want to take the time to switch things over Friday [or Saturday] anyways. Although they won't arrive until afternoon Monday, so it will be tight getting them ready for Monday Night's ride.

We worked on the barn today, working on flashing and trim. It's slow work… and still not all that comfortable in the sun.

We are going out to dinner tonight with friends.. so quitting early, but plan to get back to it tomorrow. `

Hey everybody! I mowed my lawn -- with my Toro eCycler rechargeable electric mower. It's what all the cool kids use. 8)

I didn't ride my bike... because I don't have one.

I did drive my MINI. It is 100 degrees with a heat index of 111 degrees. High-strung turbocharged engines hate that kind of weather -- they much prefer cold, dry (dense) air.

Right now, I'm inside where I won't melt. Got me some funky music going. This is playing as a I type....

Hey, it's the preacher man! Sorry, DOCTOR preacher man.

I think we need to have a Dead Thread/Campfire Thread reunion. We can make it a celebration of wasting time on the internet. Like Waynestock without the weird naked Indian.

So, how do we promote this? I'll pledge five dollars.

Cool Kids…. I guess I have too much mowing to be cool… :NC

You are correct… that does not sound all that good without a 200 watt subwoofer [although I suspect I wouldn't like it any better with one] :R 8)

So I guess I am not cool… nor all that funky… :NC

I do have a turbo though… although it is a low strung diesel.

Friday, I did more work on my decks star fence. I put a perforated metal band alone the fence near the top. It's what will hold them aligned [at the top] I did clean and paint the strap, and hardware. I had some mowing to finish up [Laurie did most of it after work Thursday] [she gets out of work before me] I also did some trail mowing.

Laurie had taken the afternoon off and we headed to the woods for more trail work. We built another bridge and did some work on the trail to and from it. We also cleaned up some trees that had come down. I had hoped to do more, but working in "heat" was taking it's toll.

I had hoped to go into work to do some work on my newest bike. I had new wheels that were supposed to be in… but they didn't  I checked tracking and they are now due Monday. I didn't really want to take the time to set them up Friday anyways.

I have a set of 29er+ wheels coming in. My Ice Cream Truck comes with 100mm rims and 4.8" tires, but I want to try the same set up I have on my Krampus.. but since the hub spacing is very different, It required new wheels.

Yesterday it was back to barn work. We did quit early to head to the coast for dinner with friends. Today will be back to working on the barn again. It's still July, but I am feeling the pressure of approaching winter. :o Although come autumn and being done work for the season, I should be able to get a bit done.

Had to grocery shop this morning and turning a prescription to drug store. Mowed the front lawn too. :D

Going to skin doctor at noon today. I have to get an MRI on my left knee and might need surgery too! Won't know much until after the MRI on 1 Aug.

Mowing!!

No mowing here today. I have been out working on the barn. My wheels should be in today, so I plan to head into the shop right after lunch to set them up. UPS doesn't arrive until the afternoon.. but it does vary. So will I have enough time before today's ride I don't know.

:x :x :x Fn UPS

Their tracking says it was on the truck..then at 10:00 something they say the business was closed so that could not deliver it. Well the business isn't closed.. and the driver knows that.. so IT WASN'T ON THE TRUCK.

I changed and got cleaned up based on the info they gave me. I am not sure when I will get a chance to work on my bike now? Tuesday and Thursday.. I am working.. Wednesday Laurie is taking the day off to work here.. Friday we have somewhere to be. :x :x

Kerry I hope things work out for your knee.

Well UPS had a link to write them on the their tracking page.. I wrote.. someone wrote back that someone would contact me in 4 hours.. and nothing. The wheels should be in today.. but I might not have a chance to work on them until next Monday now. We were waiting for a part for a customer yesterday also. I don't know if it was coming UPS or Fed-ex. It that did not come in, we will have a pissed customer.

I am off for a quick trip to the lumberyard on the way to work.

We seem to be getting some particularly stupid people at the shop recently. :? Although we have had some good people also.

My wheels came in yesterday.. they look nice.. but I still need another part. :x

The hubs I got take a center lock disc brake rotor. While most use a 6 bolt mounting set up. Our supplier didn't have the hubs I wanted with the 6 bolt mount.. and wanting new seperate rotors anyways. I chose those. I assumed the lock ring came with the hub. It doesn't.. and they didn't come with the rotors I happened to choose. So I can't mount my brake rotors. So I am a week away before I can get those. Although we have one bike in stock that uses that set up, and Dave said I could borrow them.

I had an awesomely painful road ride last night. Being in a pace line with 3 other riders that are stronger and faster than you.. is painful. We hammered the first 3/4s of the ride.. and were going to take it easy on the way back… then a few minutes into it.. Bill says we are on a 6.9 mile strava segment.. and we are 15 seconds ahead of the leader right now. :o So away we went.

I came home to a message from UPS yesterday.. they explained that it was a computer glitch. [which is BS] The shop has had this problem for over 4 months despite repeatedly telling them. They gave me a number to call back.. I think I might to ask them about that glitch. I did get a survey from them.. I have filled that out.

We are working on the next gabion wall… currently digging and moving old retaining wall blocks. We are supposed to go out to dinner tonight. It's my brother anniversary.

Oh, sorry... seems I nodded off for a minute. :D

We got a good storm yesterday afternoon. Well, good as far as the rain. Lightning set a house on fire not far from here. I'm pretty sure I know when it happened. The bang was LOUD. :o

I found out about a feature on my MINI that I didn't know about. A very useful feature. Hey, I haven't had the car quite four years, yet. These things take time.
