John, I was thinking about your window again, after 'completing' my camper, and that we both used the Trim-Lok LK1660 gasket.

173805

In my case, I installed this gasket so that the 1/4" channel (labeled '1/4" glass' in the manufacturer's diagram above) grips my window opening frame. And the channel the manufacturer intended for the body panel, labeled '1/8" edge' above, is where my acrylic window is installed. The 'lock' is on the inside of the camper, not the outside.

I recall reading in your journal before (and I think I confirmed again), that you used 1/4" acrylic sheet. Can you remind me which channel holds the window frame, which channel holds your acrylic window, and which side the gasket's 'lock' is on in your build? Not that I'm going to change anything, but I was just curious.

Thanks.

I am building a slide out for my Cook Partner stove just like you did - what kind of connector did you use of the pass through on the shell out to the tank - any info/pics you can share is appreciated! Also hoses and connectors as well, thanks!!

Adam, if you go to page 21 of my build journal, you might find answer to the question you asked about my window. I did use 1/4 inch material (which measures out to .238 inch. I did make the window material overlap (a bit larger than the trailer's window opening) to prevent the caving in situation which you described while traveling at high speed. The gasket's locking feature is on the outside of my set up. I did run a "bead" of Tremco Butyl caulk around the seam of where the gasket meets the trailer body.

Abarkume, I did not use any "special" fittings to hook up the stove. I used the 5 foot (I think that's the length) propane line that came with the stove. It was just long enough. I've attached a pict of a fixture I made up to attach to the outside of the trailer's side from the propane tank where the line passes through outside wall of the trailer (black fixture). Tony's trailer has a similar stove sliding feature. You might also get some inspiration from looking at his set up. When ordering your stove just make sure your propane inlet to the stove is on the side that will work for your setup.

Tony's trailer has a similar stove sliding feature.

My propane tank is on the tongue, and the rubber lines run under the frame. (The Partner has a high-pressure regulator, and my Propex has a standard one, thus two lines.)

The hose that came with the Partner stove goes through the floor and allows for the slider. This video shows a glimpse of the hose at about 3:25. The holes are sealed with PL adhesive.
