Buy American ... What have you bought that is 100% USA made

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Alright-Y then:

Seems Steve (Sonetpro) has given us the biggest list so far.
(Thank God during this holiday season for Steve or we would be
without any significant American goods to carry on.)

So far we if we want American ... We can buy some old cars for sure.

If we are hunters ... there seems to be an NRA contingency that buys guns
and ammo from America.

Fishing reels and some Kayaks, canoe & paddle for sure.

We have a Maglite, leatherman tool and BIG IRON for cooking made here.

Zippo lighters, Pyrex, & some natural fiber clothes and oh yes some Texas
boots worn by a Finn in a furr-an fishy fine Finnish famous family.

Ira says he bought a Pizza ... we are checking with the hands on
creationist validity ruling at this time as to if it was or is American made!

Begrudgingly ... I have to give back the Navajo blankie to Lane as the rules
committee says that sense the Navajo Nation helped the Marines in WWII to
win the war by using coded messages that I shouldn't be a wet blanket. So
Lane through the goodness of my ever expanding heart we let you Keep
your blankie. And ... by the way we will let slide the bees wax candles too.

So there you have it. This group comes uP with a few weapons, Sports
hunting and fishing implements tools and a few old clunkers for American
made stuff.

IS THAT ALL ... YOU HAVE TO OFFER from THIS GREAT NATION Image

So your telling me, We go out and buy our natural fibers and make some
cloths while throwing over our shoulder our Navajo blankie for warmth,
wearing our Texas boots we are set for public interaction.

We go to an antique car show or junk yard and pick uP an old car that can
take a canoe, paddles, fishing reel, guns and ammo, strapping our leather-
man tool on our side we are ready to go forth as Americans with purchasing power.

We stuff in our pouch we made from natural fibers the bic ligher or zippo
and bees wax candles with a maglite and we are ready for warmth and
light. Oh don't forget the Big Iron for cooking ... we do need to eat.

Image Wait ... wait ... we have a ruling on the PIZZA.

It has been decreed that sense IRA bought and ate the PIZZA
made physically in the USA it is OK ... to be on the list.
*************************************************************

So this is how it all comes down too for our American BuckImage

ImageImage
So there you have the picture of the American consumer we can come uP
with in our fine cross section of people here. Looks to me to be a cross
between Davie Crockett and Lewis and Clark with a few frills of fire sticks
and choice of a jalopy for transport. We will use some Big Iron and copper
clad Revere Ware to eat off and some American Drew furniture
for the setting and eating.

ImageImageImage

Where should we set uP camp and make our last stand, :D
cause the fur-iners are coming to make our last products and for our last
American green back we will make in our fleeting factories. Image

Craftsman tools came under fire in 2004 in a lawsuit accusing Sears,
Roebuck and Co of false advertising
and consumer fraud for questionable use
of the "Made in USA" slogan

Suit Hits Sears "Made In USA" Claim

The suit alleges that promotions in ads, the website, on signs and labels
claiming that Craftsman is "Made in the USA" led consumers to purchase
the tools out of a sense of patriotism. Consumers were also led to believe
that Craftsman is of high quality because it is "Made in the USA."

Pictures attached to the complaint show metal parts from Austria,
Denmark, China, India and Mexico on Craftsman tools labeled as "Made in
the USA."

The Cutco knives are made in the USA, in fact the plant is in Oelan, NY. Along with St. Bonaventure university. All of the Goodyear Blimps are made in the US, but I don't know if all the parts are. Tha Goodyear racing tires are made in the US and have the name of the employee in them, in fact the tires for NASCAR are to be sent to NASCAR 3 months before the race. The ignition wires made by Delphi (old Packard Electric) are still made in Warren. Oh., the mexicans made more landfill filler and the line was returned here. All your plastic milk jugs are made in the US, at the dairy, because the jug would be too costly to ship in. All of the CO2 used in bottling of soda is (made) drilled for here. Comes from the ground just like natural gas, sometines looking for gas and get CO2 (say dollars). The local farmers have USA food and the local urbanites have USA welfare.

Well, Scooter if the pictures showed the tools labeled "Made in the USA."
and they could prove the pics were taken in these other countries what
more proof does one need?
The outcome of the reasonable mind would say  and Sears lies like a rugImage

It is one of nine such suits filed in five states. In each case, Sears
has filed a motion to dismiss. Spokesperson Chris Brathwaite says: “We
will continue to vigorously defend them.” In 1997 the Federal Trade
Commission set a standard for Made in USA labels: American origin may
be claimed only if "all, or virtually all" of the product is made here. Fine
print in Sears promotional materials reveals only about 1,600 of
Craftsman's 5,000 tools are U.S.-made. The suits claim this isn't obvious
from the retailer's ads. A quick check of several Sears stores by
BusinessWeek found, for example, a screwdriver with a label indicating
Canadian origin hanging under an image of the product labeled Made in
USA. FTC lawyer Laura Koss won't say if the agency is investigating. "The
bottom line is making sure consumers get accurate information," she says.

Well, I spent too much time trying to figure out if Sears has fessed uP to
its insult on the consumer by false Made in USA labels: It appears in the
PDF link above that when the other 9 cases were added to the plaintiffs the
case went to another court and they are still in litigation as sears chooses
to keep this bad news under wraps.

Bottom line if you had picture proof with witnesses saying that in Pictures
attached to the complaint show metal parts from Austria, Denmark, China,
India and Mexico on Craftsman tools labeled as "Made in the USA, wouldn't
you be more able to wrap your mind around the thought that Craftsman
tools were made elsewhere that the USAImage

This appears to be a long drawn out case to obfuscate the obvious lie.

Kershaw knives. I was at the factory in Tualatin OR a couple of weeks ago. The Leatherman plant mentioned above is only 2 miles from my house.
Steve are you noticing a trend? Knives, guns, I think Ira mentioned our missiles. We are a country who can take care of ourselves.

Waddabout Snap-On tools they are made in Kenosha, WI. At least that is what it said on my ratchet.

Craftsman handtools are made here but power tools are a different story. My Craftsman Hybrid saw was made in China. The same goes for Snap-On, Matco, etc. The handtools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc) are made here but power tools are contracted out. Sears does sell a non Craftsman brand "Champion" but I don't know if those are included in the suit.

Finding the place of manufacture is getting more and more difficult. The "Stuff" that we manufacture at work are made here. I'm sitting on the production floor right now. But they are sent out to Malaysia to be packaged. When the demand rises and the factory is filled to capacity, we use our foundries in Taiwan to backfill the stuff we can't make. It still has our name on it but it is mixed in with all the other product.

At least it's not the other way around. The other company that ran us was the opposite, use us to backfill what Taiwan couldn't make.

When I saw a new response to the thread I scrolled down to my last post and started reading. I thought I was going crazy since I knew I read the post after mine before I made my post. :?
