Oh...yea...I'm glad you were ok too

Don't forget to bring the pie jug with you. If you don't think it will safely make it on your bike just let me know and I'll make a trip to Tyler to get it ahead of time..

Beavers Bend is quickly approaching. See ya then.

FOOD !!!!!!!!!

Yes BB #2 is about six weeks away .... but potlucks are something we're good at , huh? So while it's still cold and yucky outside, how 'bout giving some thought to what you might bring for dinner .....

For those that are new to our td gatherings, most people arrive anytime Friday evening , so that dinner is pretty much on your own. Breakfast and lunch too.
Then Saturday night let's have our potluck.... whether you grill it, smoke it, DO it , or bring it - it'll be a good feast ! It's nice to have a variety too and keep in mind that not everybody is a big eater (Scott's not a big guy anymore ! Yeah!) haha

Last year, we were lucky enough to have an empty pavilion so hopefully that will be the case again this year.

We'll actually make a list, or a thread so everybody knows what's coming on the menu, but I'll do that after the first of March.

Julie

Anyone in DFW or points south want to meet up and caravan to the gathering?

I'm in Frisco, well North of Dallas, and people coming from Houston or other cities are welcome to stop here for a pit-stop. Or we could gather up in McKinney, which is along Hwy 75. Folks from Forth Worth can come over 121 or 380 to McKinney.

Any other thoughts?

I'm counting the days to our first gathering! Hubby Shayne is the DO cook of the family, I'll let him take care of that. I'll make something easy!
Last night I was in Walmart in Texarkana, AR. They had a Coleman Slow Cooker on their clearance aisle for $35.00, originally $58. It was propane powered. My family is sick of my crock pot meals so I didn't get it. If any of you are interested check out your Wally world...

We have officially filled the very last site in the buckeye section. Catoosa Grani will be joining us in a ......shhhhhh........(Motorhome)......
Let's not hold that against them as they have ordered a teardrop and it will not arrive in time to bring it to Beavers Bend.
Sorry Betty, as a group we just love to tease folks in motorhomes.
Really now. The park said this was the last site.
If anyone else wants to attend just let me know and I'll keep calling untill the last minute just in case someone cancels.
Welcome Betty, Gene and Jon.....We look forward to meeting you guys.

The official list of those attending are on the first page of this thread.

hummmmm. I only remember seeing a ditch out by the highway. Sure will be hard to sleep with the cars and trucks going by.
Of course...if you have enough peach pie you could possibly sleep through a storm.

BTW Greg, if i need to come pick up the peach pie just give me a week's notice as I don't make trips to Tyler much anymore. Natalie moved back home. I will be happy to make a run to your shop in Jacksonville.

Motorhome at BB

Postby Catoosa Grani » Thu Feb 22, 2007 10:32 pm

Come on guys, can't you just overlook our little motorhome this once? Maybe we could hide it behind a tree or something. Guess we could bring a tent, would we get chastised for a tent? Oh well, we are coming any way!

Nah, we're a nice bunch granni!!!! But don't be surprised if you don't spend a lot of time in your old motorhome.... you'll be oooing and ahhhing at the little teardrops !!!

LOOK !!! just four weeks away !!! Oh my goodness, I better get busy and get a few more things done on mine. I've got cream color paint on the outside and the fenders are dark red, but still have so much to do !!!

I'm looking forward to it !!! I'm going to see if my 17 yr old wants to bring any friends and tent it and do some fishing or whatever (dunno know if he'll wanna) and there is a friend here at work who has really wanted to go to Beavers Bend, and she half joked that if her hubby couldn't get off work then her and her 5 y/o might still come and tent it !!!
