I've found that a 32" wide door is just about ideal, especially in a 10' long teardrop. I can't remember where your front "Armoir" is in relation to your curent door location, but it looks like you've got at least a couple of more inches between the door and axle to play with. In my experience, I've found that if you place the leading edge of the door 24" from the leading edge of the trailer's profile (on a 10' profile), that's just about perfect, and you'll still have plenty of clearance between door and fender.

BTW - nearly all of my latest teardrops are (and have been) based on the Modernistic / Cub profile ... I just love it! ... ... ...

As well as a door slightly wider than 28", I think your trailer could take a slightly taller door - not for convenience, though it can't but help, but to stop the top of the body looking a little 'heavy'.

It would certainly be worth drawing out another profile with, say, a 2-4" taller door and comparing the two.

28 is narrow, especially since you're talking about a 28" OPENING, right?

This is where a huge piece of cardboard with the actual cutout is helpful--so you can really see the actual opening as opposed to imagining it from a blueprint.

I have a bathroom doorway in my house that is 28" wide. Yea you can walk through it ok, but in a teardrop you will want to sit in the doorway and be able to swing your legs around to get inside. 28" is going to be very tight. To me 32" would be much easier to manuver through the doorway.

I just measured my door because I was unsure of it's width. The opening is 29in but there is a 3/4" lip for the weatherstripping. It's plenty wide for a wide teardropper such as myself.

Fried Green Tomatoes are fantastic. Personally I would sprinkle some cherry wine on the trailer and drink the rest. Lace on your drawers would only look good if you gingerbreaded the whole thing.

Perhaps I will find the Whimsey thread. These guys decorate better than I ever will.
