Water tank/pump

I ordered two 10 gal thick plastic water tanks from PPL RV supply ($29 each!) I would highly recomend these guys, They were very helpful and
shipping was very fast,two days.
Anyway,I am trying to decide on a water pump,do you guys (and gals) have any recomendations on type of pump to use? should I go with an on demand water pump (also how do they work?) or should I get a pump that uses a switch near the faucet?
Every trailer Ive had used a pressurized water system that used a small air compressor but that wont work well with the plastic tanks.

You don't need anything fancy here. I would recommend the Nautilus Single Fixture Pump. It's designed for the smaller, single faucet sinks. You can mount it above or below the water level. It primes itself and delivers water on demand. This pump also will not air lock. Uses the 3/8" barb ports and only has a 2.5 amp draw at 1.0 gallon per minute - about $57.00.
Flojet has an automatic water pump that puts out 2.9 gallons per minute.
It's pretty much like the Nautilus but draws 7.0 amps max. This pump costs about $70.00
You can mount these pumps upside down or whatever. I'd recommend using about a 1/2" rubber isolator when mounting them to cut down on the noise. Just mount a switch near the sink or even on the faucet itself and you should do just fine. These pumps should be the "on-demand" type and shut off when you turn the faucet off. Don't use a compressor or anything because you don't need it. Hope this answers your questions.

I got the same pump and faucet combo. A word of warning here, though. Mine got some water in it and the toogle switch burned out. I would recommend that you remove the toogle switch from the faucet and relocate it out of harms way. I put the new one up about 4" higher in the cabinet behind the faucet. I then plugged the hole left in the fauce fixture with some cardboard and silicone caulk.

I used a Flojet and mounted it to the floor. Its a little loud but it works well. It feeds a water filter faucet from HD.

My water tank is from PPL too.

What about a little manual pump? It seems like a good idea, then you wouldn't have to worry about a switch/pump/battery failure.

That's cheap! When I was considering a sink, a 7 gal tank was in the $80 range. That's why I was going to do the PVC pipe water tank. Oh well, I ditched the whole sink plan anyway.

I think that way too, but the reality is that now it's more expensive to buy a manual pump than an electric one, at least over here! The reason may be that the only manual ones now available are good quality, often for boat use, whereas the electric ones (and taps/faucets) come as cheap as you like - both cheap-and-cheerful and cheap-and-nasty

I like the combo faucet, pull up you have the electric pump or push down you have city water and you can just pump for when you don't have battery or city water. Can't remember how much they where and the last time I bought one was over 10 years ago for my camper.

I used a manual pump on mine to save water. I found if you have to pump it you tend to waste a lot less. we all get in the habit of letting the water run before we use it. That don't happen if you have to hand pump it

Those guys at Ebay want a crazy amount for shipping! I just looked at the
link and they want $69,$53,$39 for shipping! I paid PPL 15 bucks to ship both my tanks and a door latch and I received them in two days. I have asked some of those thieves on ebay why their shipping was so far out of line and none of them would reply. I once saw a cd on ebay and the shipping was $15, I asked them why it was so high and they answered
"CD's are fragile and we have to pack them carefully"

I tried to buy two ten gallon tanks from the guy on ebay that wants $24
for a ten gallon tank,he wanted $30 to ship two of them and PPL only wanted $15 to ship two,he also said they couldn't be shipped together
but I received mine together. What I am saying is some of the people on ebay try to rob others with crazy shipping prices on light weight items
just in case their stuff doesn't sell at a high price, I have seen some great bargains on Ebay only to be disappointed with their ridiculous shipping fees, $75 shipping for a $15 cordless drill, $80 shipping on a 6 ounce camera battery, they give ebay a bad name. Aaron
