Gathering prices

Well, I've decided on the Benroy using Mike's "Generic Benroy Plans" as a guideline. I made a run to Home Depot this afternoon to gather prices for the materials needed to build the floor frame and actual floor for my TD module. For anyone that didn't see my intro in the newbies section, I plan to build a TD module that will mount onto an already-existing 5'x10' Iron Eagle flatbed trailer.
Still need to check Lowes for a couple things where HD didn't have precisely what I wanted. Numbers in parentheses are how many I believe I need.

Floor frame & Joists: 10-ft 1x2 clear cedar -- $4.55 ea (5)
Subfloor: 5/8" 4x8 plywood -- $17.59/sh or 15/32" 4x8 plywood -- $12.88/sh (2)
Frame screws: #7 x 1 5/8" stainless steel square drive -- $15.95/box (1)
Insulation: 3/4" 4x8 white polystyrene (HD only has pink Foamular in 1" or thicker, need to check Lowes for 3/4") -- $8.44/sh (2)
Insulation Screws: #8 x 1 1/4" Modified Truss Head -- $4.46/box (1)
Insulation Washers: 3/16" x 1 1/4" fender washers -- $13.50/box (1)
Adhesive: Gorilla Glue 18 oz. bottle -- $18.97 (1)
Waterproofer: Henry Wet Patch Roof Cement 3.5 gallon bucket (check Lowes for BlackJack Emulsion Roof Coat) -- $34.50 (1)

Looks like I should be able to build the floor for around $160.

Are you building a teardrop, tiny travel trailer or a boat? Don't you already have a floor in your existing 5'x10' Iron Eagle flatbed trailer? You need to think about it a little more. Look at it this way. Your going to build a box that's going to slide in an existing flatbed trailer.

Thanks for the reply and the comments Gage. I think, if I'm reading between your lines correctly, that you are suggesting I could easily do without the waterproofing, insulation, and insulation hardware (screws & washers), and perhaps even without the frame and joists for the floor. I think I'll stick with the floor frame and joists, if for no other reason than to give the lower edge of the walls a strong mount point. Do I need to be concerned about moisture getting under the "box"? Perhaps a rubber seal around the bottom? That would sure shave a lot off the costs of the floor.

Yep, you read between the lines good. Do you plan on leaving the tear in place or removing it time to time so as to use the flatbed for other purposes? And a simple 2x2 frame around the floor will be good enought for the side attachment along the bottom. As far as water proofing. Just under coat the flatbed. That way you kill two birds with one stone.

A simple slide-in

Thanks Gage. That simple slide-in shown in your post is just about exactly how I picture my finished product. I don't plan to leave the tear in-place when not in-use. I plan to store it in the garage and just put it on the trailer when needed. Mostly the trailer will remain a flat-bed for regular hardware/landscape/trash/etc use.

18 oz gorilla glue. That's a lot of glue and it has a short shelf life!!!

I usually end up with a half bottle ruined. Has to be a wet application also.

I like the PL Urethane construction glue. Couple/three tubes usually does the whole TD.
