Windows

Postby Weerider » Thu Aug 30, 2007 9:43 pm

I have a question about windows. I have looked at so many pictures of beautiful teardrop campers with radius windows that seem to just fit perfectly. I need windows for the doors of my tear and I had no idea they would be so difficult to find. I see motor-homes and large travel trailers with what appears to be an infinite range of window sizes. I am interested in the black frame, tinted sliders with radius corners and my doors are 1.75" thick. Ideally I would like a window about 22"X22" but try as I might, I can't locate them. I did contact a custom manufacturer and they could fix me right up in about 3 weeks to the tune of $708.00 for a pair. I know I'm a tightwad but that's just too dang steep for me. Can you fine folks point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Howard

Got mine on EBAY, I think most are horse trailer windows. So if you can find a horse trailer manufacturer you might find just what you want, maybe, possibly, almost.

eBay for me as well, but mine are made for 2" walls.

There are several sellers on eBay with various sizes/colors

Here's a link to the search I've saved for windows, not too many showing up right now but you can email some of these sellers since they seem to list several windows sizes weekly.

Hi Howard,
If I were building and needed windows, I would talk to Grant.

When I get around to remodeling, I will talk to Grant.
There might be other sources, but I doubt there would be the variety and come with the tried and true advice..

You should keep an eye out for old toppers or junk campers. I picked up 4 windows & a roof vent last week for free. Pics on my album.
The impossable just takes longer & cost more.

Thanks BrwBier and Ken A Hood for the tips... I found a couple of windows on ebay that will do me just fine.

Thanks MJ for the sites you mentioned, I found a few other items I was looking for.

Thanks Mary K and pgwilli , I will be ordering door hardware from Grant.

Good tip t-vicky, I had looked at a couple of local salvage yards with no success... guess you have to just keep looking.

windows

Ditto the Redneck Trailer suggestion. I bought mine there. My door windows were $65 each (15X24) and I put a 12" X 48" in the front for $85. All black 90degree radius slider windows with screens. Just screw them in.
