Hi all,
I am a coffee fanatic, and have tried many coffees, and many brewing methods.
At home I grind my beans and use a Frieling stainless steel French Press. I purchased it from amazon.com. A little pricey, but it keeps the coffee hot, and it is made very well. I'm sure it would work fine on the road, except for messy cleanup.
IMO, the best coffee in the world is Intelligentsia's Black Cat Blend. It is available for purchase online:

Intelligentsia coffee is roasted and shipped within one day, so it's very smooth and flavorful. The only problem with it is once you try it, you can never go back to drinking swill!
When I travel, I use a Melitta drip filter cone with unbleached filters only, and a sturdy mug. It works just fine, though the end result is not as good as a French Press.
I've heard nothing but good things about the Aero Press.
I have my eye on a manual travel burr coffee grinder sold here:

It comes in a larger size too, but since I'm the only coffee drinker, the small size would be perfect for road trips.
Happy sipping or gulping!
