Hi there. I have always wanted to build a camper and love the lines on a teardrop. I hope to start my project soon. I want to build the 15' Caravanmechill. I love the look and the size is big enough for my family. I love the site and just from looking through the forums so far I can see there are alot of people out there that will help in many ways. Thanks for such a cool site and hope to start on mine soon. I'll post pictures.

Welcome Zachary, and thanks for your service to our country.

I didn't know the Army had invaded Eglin AFB. My brother-in-law was there for a while, and my brother spent about 7 years there in the Air Force. I presume by your forum name that you are a 63B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic? And what is an RTB? After 35 years in the military, I realize that even soldiers can't keep up with all the acronyms!!!!
I was stationed at Tyndall AFB over at Panama City for a while.... (man, was that tough duty  )

Good luck on your build....

Hey there Mark. RTB is Ranger Training Battalion. The camp has been at Eglin for 50yrs. We are stuck 20 miles in the middle of nowhere! It is definatly a terrable duty station with all the beaches and that terriable Gulf Coast water! My wife really hates going to the beach whenever she wants. 8) I have already started getting things together for the 15' trailer but have desided to build the lil guy' model first. The only way to learn is jump in and do it. Learned that the hardway from the Army!! Well take it easy out there.

Welcome to the group!

Hey, Welcome to the group!

My Dad was stationed in the Milton, FL area when he was in the US Navy in the 1950's. He was originally from New York, but after getting out, he relocated to Tampa/St. Petersburg. I'm from Tampa, lived there 41 years, but recently relocated to Asheville, NC.

This is a great group of folks and you will get a lot of good info and feedback about building your camper.

Welcome aboard!
