Mike and I went out on Sunday to Crawford lake in Farlington KS and were wonderfully surprised to find the campground almost empty.

Keepers=3 cats. The toss backs were a mix of small blue gill and real skinny crappy. I saw a few bass but they were jumpers and feeding on big stuff...

:D We didn't take too many pictures just of the wonderfully bare campground and can be found Here http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u78/ ... 08%20camp/

Poor Mike had a nasty cold and sat in the td most of the time reading. I think he enjoyed it. 8) Much quieter than at home. Problem is every time he went to sleep he heard a male voice wanting to see the TD. Don't get a lot of naps. And the mowers started at 7:30 Monday morning. I get up at 6am. ;)

Here's a first attempt at trying to paint some stripes

I didn't have the right tape to mask it off and it is so humid and hot tonight the paint didn't have a sharp edge but I'll look at it in the light and decide if I like the concept.

I like t he design you're going for but I'd go out and get the blue masking tape from the hardware store. Using red you'll want to put several coats on before your color is really solid so I wouldn't worry about the uneven edges at the moment.

Keep up the good work.

Fire ant: Like Lynn said get the blue painters masking tape it really gives a crisp edge and comes off clean. How do I know, well lets just I used it for the first time this year to paint up some pinewood derby cars that I helped some girls from church make. But thats an obsession left for another kind of forum.

Aunti M: Thats a huge fish!!! At least for me cause I go trout fishing and I'm lucky if I can get anything over 12 inches. Besides catfish scare the bajebers out of me, cause the one and only catfish I ever caught, did what yours did to you and cut my hand. Plus the whole hissing/growling thing creeps me out. Hope Uncle Mike feels better soon.

Have fun

 Catfish are neat and don't really thorn you anymore than regular fish. They just do it deliberatly. Have never been cut more than a stick. This one missed because he was big enough to slip out of my hand when he flexed. :R Yummmmy 8) I caught two trout. They are smart fish and know I am gonna eat them so they don't bite.

Postby Gaelen » Mon May 19, 2008 7:39 pm

Well...I am finally REALLY home from the hospital.
Before, I was 'home' to my brother's apartment in NYC.
Last Wednesday, I took the train home to Camillus...and after spending two days sleeping and trying to get myself back on a schedule, I finally got a chance to go check out the Sunspot.

I'd asked my brother to keep an eye on the trailer...it's in an open lot, the 'overflow' parking for my development. Apparently, my neighbors were better at that than my brother, but they didn't have my cell phone number.

The winter damage is one flat tire, and a lot of salt/dirt on the exterior. I was planning to buy new tires this year when I got the bearings repacked, but now that's priority #1 (luckily, KOST has trailer tires on sale this week.) It also needs a seriously good wash before I even think about tightening up caulking and seams, and I'm not strong enough to do that just yet.

The good news is that there was NO water damage, and nobody 'borrowed' anything. It will be awhile before I'm strong enough to go camping, but at least I'm home and I can see the trailer every day. Odd how comforting that is, but I've already gotten more sleep in the last five days at home than I'd gotten in the previous week. ;)

Welcome home Gaelen. Happy to hear you are resting. The sunspot survived the winter and it will still be there when you get strong. For now you might work on designs and color schemes. Think of wild flowers and teardrops. 8) OH and puppies. ;)

Both are good news Gaelen. I'm glad you're home and that you're able to see the Sunspot. And I'm sure there are several here who can relate to the comfort of just seeing their trailer even when you can't use it.

If I lived close by, I'd offer to come and scrub her up for you, unfortunately I'm too far to lend a hand. I'll be praying for your continued recovery and that you'll get some extra help to do the things you can't do yet.

Gaelen ~ Welcome Home!

Glad to hear you are in good spirits. I know what you mean about seeing your 'Sunspot'. I love my little Teardrop gal and it makes me smile when I back out of my garage each day and see 'her' sitting in the driveway. I even feel safe when I climb into my cozy "bedroom" when I am camping in her. It's almost like 'she' has a heartbeat. I know, I know, kinda weird sounding but it's true.

Anyway, very, very happy to hear you are back home and we are still praying for your complete recovery.

Thought I'd pop in for a minute....

Gaelen - recup soon so you can adventure in that Sunspot! it's the best medicine!!!!

Becca, I know what you mean, the Cherry Drop is my 'sanity' in my otherwise crazy world...

Aunti M.... what a mighty fisherwoman you are!!!! Loved the pic's!!!! miss seeing you!!!

The trip back from AZ through the blizzard took a tole on the Cherry and I plan a few changes to bring her back to 'standard'.... keep tuned in and I'll do pic's as she get a new 'do'.... Took her last weekend for the 'Good Luck Shelly' trip and probably won't take her again for a short time... while I work on her!

Always enjoy hearing what every one is up to.... take care!
