Armorpoxy

I have purchased some armorpoxy for my tear. My ? is for the seams and screw holes I was going to use rot doctors epoxy filler. Do I still need to coat with CPES or just use the filler and paint with my armorpoxy!

Using the CPES makes it easier for the epoxy filler to stick. I would still put some cpes on the joints and the holes.

So I can just coat the seams and screw holes not the whole tear. Then use the filler. :worship:

ArmorPoxy is designed to go over epoxy(fiberglass)...it is not meant to be applied directly to wood...personally, I would coat the entire trailer before painting...if not, then you need to use the primer that ArmorPoxy recommends for the paint...this is not the time to cheapout!!!!!!!!

This is the first I've heard about this product. Are we saying that CPES is the only primer/preparation that would be required for the Amorpoxy over bare wood?

I ask this because I was considering the Rot Doctor's Uniflex, but now, after looking at Armorpoxy's web site, I really like the variety of colors that are available.

T2, according to their website, and from what research I've done, you can apply to the CPES coated wood without primer...according to their website, concrete and wood are the only things that need to be primed first...follow all manufacturers directions and keep in mind YMMV........

A. ArmorPoxy does not normally require the use of primers. For surfaces needing to be primed, we suggest using our floor sealer/prep for concrete or our primer for bare wood. Then apply Armor Poxy full strength for the second coat! ( make sure to check all federal, state and local regulations regarding V.O.C. - Volatile Organic Compounds - issues to assure compliance, before thinning.)


I found this on the website under Marine. Personal opinion only, but with the wind and rain we get this seems to best fit a TD application.
