Removable door hinges: PLease help me locate on this site.

I read at one point about Removable door hinges. I have looked at the starting point page, I might of just missed it.
And I did a search, over 5000 hits .
Can anyone point me in the right direction for these?

Austin Hardware...bullet hinges.. But since they revamped (raised their prices) their website I've heard it's terrible to navigate

I understand that it appears they have raised their prices significantly but register with them as a customer and you'll see lower prices. Prices for just about everything has gone up because of the greedy oil industry. Danny

I could not not find bullet hinges. I found lift off, but those do not lock in place like the bullet ones. Am i right about the bullet ones kindo of locking so they only lift off in one position?

closing the door locks them in place..they don't have a lock feature, it's not needed.

Several people have hinges that "lift off." They are called "Lift Off Hinges" to do a search.

I, too, was looking for the lift-off hinges you mention. They are difficult to find on the web and Austin Hardware's web page has no picture of them. They are more frequently referred to as "Torpedo Hinges". I finally found the manufucturer:

I have the same ones that Bledsoe got, and they are from Austin Hardware. They are referred to as "lift-off" hinges on the revamped website, but I can't find the specific ones since there aren't any photos that I can see. You will want to get right opening ones and left opening ones. Bledsoe used two of each on his, and I decided to use three of each on mine (my doors are on the heavy side, and I like the look of three on each door). Oh, there are two versions, get the heavier duty version that has four mounting holes on each leaf (as in the photo of Bledsoe's tear), for a total of eight mounting holes per hinge. These should hold up better. They are super easy to install and they work great if you need to take the door off occassionally. Plus they look great, IMHO!

The Austin Hardware part numbers I listed in my earlier post are for the "4 hole per leaf" heavier duty version.

The manufacturer's web page states: "Rig-tests show that two 4-hole hinges carried a load of 125kg (275lb) without damage" so one pair would carry a TD door's weight without a problem unless you're worried that your door framing may need 3 mounting points to distribute the load. I agree that 3 hinges per door would look awesome, and so what if it costs another 30 bucks if you like it.

I just tried Austin for the torpedo hinge referenced above. That site sucks!!! When I search the given item number when not signed on I get a $48 result. When I signed on to the site I got no results with that item number. So I signed myself back off, searched the item number and got the desired results then added two hinges to my cart to see what happens. The result was twice the quantity I wanted so I updated the numbers on the cart page and hit the update button. The result was a quantity 39447....twice!!

I found these hinges that I sort of like. They do not lift off but they can't be unscrewed from the outside. A big plus is that this site seems to function.

They appear to be "floppy" but some one with experience with this type of hinge may know if this is true.
