Almost ready for it's first trip!!!!!! Pics included

Postby benzu » Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:17 am

I have about a week and half to get the trailer done before taking it on it's first road trip. We are driving from Denver to Jackson Hole Wyoming. Hope she makes it. :worship: I've already made a short tow to my friends garage to get the roof epoxied.

The picture shows the door in place no hinges and no door handle and I have to redo the t-molding, I made a newbie mistake and cut it too short on the hinge side. Grants loving this extra income.

Other picture shows the fender sitting on top of wheel (not attached) just wanted to see how it looked. I have to cut it down and paint it a different color.

Congratulations on your near completion Mike! It really came out great and I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. Now you need to get used to giving tours of it...sorry, just part of teardropping.  Doug

I've already given many tours so getting used to it, plus its nice to have people ooo and aaaah and tell me that it looks great, it make the year and frustration of building it and melt away. We are leaving the galley and the interior cabinets out for now just trying to make mobile for the Jackson whole trip then if everything goes great and we get back in one piece the we will start on the interior.

That is really nice Ben, don't worry about the td on the trip, mine had almost 2500 miles on it before it was slept in. Love your inlay work..Jim G

Very nice, and very creative! You're gonna be very popular when you stop to get gas. :applause:   :applause:
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Very nice TD. Good work.

However, you need to cover the white-spoke wheels. They draw attention away from the nice woodwork. Here's a cheap suggestion: http://www.hubcapmike.com/smoothie_hubcaps.html

I was going to paint them the same color as the light wood in the pictures but that is a great alternative. Thanks for the link.

I have them on my TD, which came with the same white-spoke wheels...

Wow!! That looks really great, Mike!! Man, I have "hatch envy", that turned out really nice and shiny. Just go have fun in Jackson Hole and worry about the rest of it later. I'm betting there will be some changes in design made while you guys are there  .
