Our Bumper Idea

Postby Classic Finn » Sat Jul 12, 2008 5:16 pm

Weve been working on a bumper idea and this is what will be.

Im not a computer drawer by no means but here is a drawing of it.

It will be 50 mm stainless pipe with also the arch on top. And then it will be curving around the edge to the back of the fender.

The holder will come down on the back of the bottom of the frame and angle straight out far enough not to hit the hatch once opening or closing.

The arch should maybe be wider and higher?

I just traded some airplane aluminum sheets for the stainless pipe and his work. A neighbor of ours.

I can hardly wait to get it. ;) 8)

Could someone with photoshop experience maybe draw it out more life like?

:worship: :worship:

Or maybe the arches should rise just over the set of lights on both sides?
And leaving out the 1 in the middle?

Heikki,

If that is going to stick out far enough for the hatch to miss it, won't it be a real shin skinner when you are standing at the galley with the hatch open?? Hope that makes sense and you understang what I mean.

Hi Kerry

No it wont get in the way while camping since it will swivel down totally under the back frame.. 8) 8) thus no hitting of the shins or ankles or.

We had the guy come over and look at it today. So it will swivel and then lock into place while on the move.

If I know the English word correctly they will have a bolt on both ends and a pin running through the bolt or cotter pin? Is that the correct term?

That's exactly what I was thinking that you should do. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
