...if you need a program to resize...for free, try Irfanview, available from majorgeeks.com or other freeware sites, it has a nifty batch resize feature

After you have resized them, click on the "help with photos" link above. It is so easy even I can do it. :frustrated:

I have used Paint Shop Pro for a number of years and after I resize a picture usually to a width of 600 pixels, I then do a "save as" in .jpg and it allows me to run the options function and compress it by about 50. I will start with a picture taking up about 200-300 k and end up with one that is 30-45 k and that loads in seconds even on dial-up.

Well the paint is on today, two coats of etching primer/sealer and 2 coats of Sherwin Williams automotive Sunfire paint. I am pleased with the results. Now the exterior lighting goes on after the paint sits for 24 hrs and the checkerplate front and rear splash guards can get mounted.
Before painting it I tried pulling it with our new Beetle and it pulls great, nice and straight up too 120 kmph

Now THAT IS YELLOW!!! Great job Derek. Now, where are the smiley faces for the trailer? One question. How did the aluminum frame compare with steel for cost? I like the idea of keeping the weight down by using it. I may need to do that too.

The smiley faces have not hit the YELLOW paint yet, just waiting for a little more dry time, it's a long story behind those smiley's because it is my wife's car. :) Where I work we fabricate all kinds of stuff out of aluminum, my decision to use aluminum was to keep the weight down, as for cost I am not sure as this stuff was salvaged out of scrap. :thumbsup: That aluminum is structural tubing and is pricey, I think the problem with aluminum is getting someone who can weld it properly, we do it all the time so for 2 of us to cut and weld the frame it only took 1 1/2 hrs tops. The frame itself may weigh 100 lbs.

Hey Derek, if you are going with smiley faces, check out Sobey's if you have one near you. They have all sorts of smiley face plates, tumblers, etc.

Well Cathy the smiley faces :) are now installed, as for the cup, plates etc my wife has already started a collection.

I have posted some of the final pictures now in my gallery, with the lights and checkerplate installed. We have to get a mattress yet and finish the door seals and wire up the marker lights. My wife wants curtains for the windows etc. She has officially called it " The Bed Bug" I will have to see if the name sticks!?!?!? :lol:
I think it turned out OK for my first time and getting it built in about a month, what do you guys think??? :thinking:

Unbelievably fast!!! COOL!!!

Does the cabin extend into typical galley area, or are you usng the galley now as separate area for "stuff?"

The rear door opens to a storage/galley area, my idea is to eventually put a small campstove or bbq in there. I will probably install a bracket on the outside to mount a small folding table to put stuff on. Also would like to fab up and install small storage box on the tongue. My original intent for this was weekend trips etc till we see whether we like it or not. :thumbsup: :thumbdown: Then maybe make a larger one or just buy a Camp Inn trailer. :thinking: This was lots of fun to build.

Keep us informed about that detail. That's something I think I MAY want to do too. I just haven't thought of a way to do it that wouldn't detract from the looks of the TD.
