Are there 3' x 5' Tearjerker Flags?

Postby Karl » Wed Jan 28, 2009 8:17 pm

Hello All,

I am putting this Q in the Tearjerkers forum too.

I am getting one of those telescopic flag poles for when I go camping. I think it can fly three 3' x 5' flags. It would be cool to have a Tearjerkers flag flying below my American flag and my "Spirit of America" flag (that matches the "Spirit of America" graphics on my 6-Wide Little Guy TD <please go to http://www.forgottenheroesusa.com and check out some of their stuff>) . I would prefer one that identified me as being part of the illustrious, wild, and adventurous Michigan Chapter but Great Lakes Chapter would be OK, of course, or even no chapter at all, I suppose.

Perhaps I have overlooked something here on the forum but I can't seem to find a flag like this. Anyone have any thoughts or comments for me?
BTW: Is the Tearjerkers logo copy protected? I wouldn't want to have someone make a flag for me and then spend 50 years in San Quentin for doing something illegal. :duh:

Thanks!

Karl

Perhaps we need a combination flag where there is a diagonal line dividing the flag into two parts with T&TTT on the top-left and Tearkjerkers on the bottom-right (or vice versa). Hmmm...might need a 4' x 6' flag instead of a 3' x 5' flag so both logos could be reasonably sized.

Karl, are you a member of a Tear Jerker Chapter? And the logo is copy protected. You need to talk to Todd over on the Tear Jerker board like has been mentioned above.

Karl,

We have used these flag post for many years.

I would not attempt to put 3 flags on them.

The first time you get a big wind it will bow or possibly bend your pole, especially if you have it fully extended.

George,

I'm in Michigan but just hooked up with the T&TTT and Tearjerker forums recently since I am a brand new teardrop owner. I wasn't certain who to speak with, hence the general post.

Yes, although I wasn't sure, I assumed the logo was copy protected and that's why I didn't want to do anything on my own out of respect for whoever has the copyright (not to mention any legal ramifications there could be for improperly/illegally infringing on the copyright even though it would be for my own personal use).

Thanks!

greg755,

But their website says that flying 3 or even 4 or 5 flags can be done! I mean, if it is on the internet, it must be true, right? I would be shocked if there was false advertising on the world wide web.

OK, OK. I'm not quite that dumb.

Actually, thank you very much for telling me your experience. Do you happen to recall which one you had/have? I was looking at the "Wonder Pole", a 21' telescoping flag pole with their wheel stand that has a 24" base. Their webpage says,

"Because of the Wonder Poles® superior strength it not uncommon to see tailgaters, and NASCAR fans flying 2, 3, and up to 5 flags, and/or windsocks on one pole. Consider flag size, and material, and don't forget the wind conditions when mounting multiple flags. In other words, you are the final judge when loading the pole. Just use common sense, show your colors, and have fun!"

Sure, leave it to the consumers to use common sense!

Any other advice you might want to give since I have never had a flag pole like this?

Thanks!

I don't remember the brand.

But yes now that you bring it up, when using the tire Gizmo (the thing that goes under your tire to hold up the pole) Try to put the pole as far from your car as you can.

One time I had it real close to the RV and when I cam back at the end of the day, my RV was scratched (up by the roof) from the pole banging into it. Saw a guy one time that put a rubber tube around his pole.

It usually is not a big deal it only happens when you get a pretty good wind.

OK. The rubber tube sounds like it would make sense.
Thanks again!
