:applause:  Your daughter does great art work and I love the color of the room. We will miss you if you go away for a couple of months.

I have a 7 foot table for cutting and am short enough for that to be close to good cutting size..... Yours is a fantastic size to walk around and cut without leaning over. :applause:

I'm getting to the point that I'm just going to have to not answer the phone, not turn or the computer and get rid of all distractions and just sew. I still have 2 months to get everything done, but I need to have the dress well under way by the end of this month.
One thing is sure, one way or another it will get done even if nothing else gets done.
The key is getting rid of interruptions and distractions. :?

Bruce is on a cross country trip. He sent me an email. He stopped in and visited Sam and just left a week end of camping with Pam.

Seems like I should "re-introduce" myself...I'm always lurking on this thread... I like gettin' updates...should give y'all some updates of my own!

We're plugging along on our build...it'll be camping this summer! We had a bit of craziness this spring...my son was stabbed  and hospitalized. He's OK now but...wow!

Then it got hot here in the valley quick...we skipped spring & went right to summer and 100 plus! so it's hard to get motivated but this week has been a little cooler. We scored a Petcool here on the forum..I'm sure we'll need it!

Thanks for all your inspiration and support ladies!

Goodness Cathy, what happened with your son? That's a horrible thing to go through. I'm glad he's ok.

Thanks for the concern y'all...about midnite on March 27th my son had chased off some "kids" who were vandalizing the cars. About 15 minutes later they "came back with 3 carloads of guys, 15-20, with baseball bats, 2x4's...and knives. They smashed the windshields in the cars and then started on my son and his wife and friends. Dave and one other were stabbed repeatedly and ended up in the hospital...another had his face broke by a bat and needed facial reconstruction.

Very scary night... like a good son, Dave called me from his cellphone...but he was laying on the ground...incoherent...and after he told me he'd been stabbed...he dropped the phone and it went dead! We called 911 and made sure an ambulance was on it's way and headed over. It was sooooo scary! When we got there he was laying in a pool of blood! He was stabbed five times and had a punctured lung...but will be OK. Because there was a real risk of continued retaliation they didn't go home...but stayed here with us for a month!! until they found a new place.

Staples are out...he's doing some counseling for PTSD. They've caught 7-10 teenagers! but who know what will actually happen. Craziness, huh! We feel so blessed that no one was more seriously or permanently hurt!

Cathy, that is a bone chilling story...a parent's nightmare. It amazes me that when people try and do the right thing it can turn into a heartbreaking situation. What the hell has this world come to??? I hope your son makes a complete recovery physically and emotionally but it will take time for the latter. My heart goes out to you Cathy.

I'M GONNA BE A GRANNY FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! :woohoo:  :running man: :bounce:
My son Dusty and his wife Jamie announced tonight that they are expecting a little baby in January 2010. I am just over the moon with excitement! We weren't expecting them to try for another couple of years so this was such a surprise. I have been saving so much love for a grandbaby (or two) for so long that he/she will get sick of me. :)

Wow is right. Praying your son and the others will be healed from this trauma completely. I'll also be praying for Justice to happen.
