He said he didn't really care how people got out
of the city.

Q: What's George Bush's position on Roe v. Wade?

A: He really doesn't care how people get out of New Orleans.

I guess somehow it got changed around to meet other viewpoints.

Speaking of Mayor Nagin, did you catch is response when asked about why he didn't use the all those school busses? He claimed that he couldn't find drivers for the bussses.

A week and a half later, with Rita on the way, Houston found drivers for their school busses.

The Mayor of New Orleans is a bozo, but that does not mean that others are not responsible also. Today's congressional hearings and testimony of "Brownie" (which I am watching) demonstrates the TOTAL incompetence of the leaders of the people of Louisiana, and those charged with protecting all Americans from disasters.

Take a look at Mayor Nagin's political contributions since 2002.

Funniest thing is that in the presidential campaign he contributed only $1000 and it went to Pres. Bush.

I agree there were failures at all levels of government. You'd think after all the money spent after 9/11 at least the Federal government would have its act together. Instead, we had bungled respose led, by the political hack in charge of FEMA.
