Trailer hitch

Just finished making trailer hitch,a rough copy of an Orics,built mine a bit stronger.The originals have been known to split down tube,to give you an idea of size the bolts are 5/8in unf socket head allen bolts.The sketch is of what i am building. cheers Gary

jeez that machining looks rough and the welding wouldnt pass any weld tests

looks like you work in the agriculture trade then. At my university we would do a far more professional job. would you like a proper design sent with some machining tips?

Gazza, going by the strength that you have build into the hitch, I look forward to watching the axle and chassis assy coming together. Your Hitch design is similar to an O'Brian Hitch I had on a off road campertrailer. An excellent piece of engineering. :thumbsup:

Thanks Dave, I had a look at those hitchers at the caravan and camping show,a bloke there told me that some are coming in from china hence make my own.cheers Gazza
