General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

This has got me thinking...

Seems to me a person could basically build a tent structure to house the trailer. Depending on the shape of the trailer (yours looks prime for this) it would be cheap to build some small trusses that span the width of the trailer. One every two feet would be perfect (works for the house, should work for the trailer. Place the trusses on top of the trailer and screw in a couple of boards diagonally to keep them from tipping. Then drape a tarp over the whole thing and pull the sides out and stake them with something pretty strong. The farther you pull them out, and the longer you made the eaves, the more ventilation you will get. I would guess a person could do this for under $100, the cost of the tarp being the majority. If you wanted to get fancy you could put in a door so you could access the inside during the winter. Or you could do a smaller tarp so the sides would be open and air could easily flow through.

In the spring, detach the diagonals and stack the trusses for easy storing.

I'm wondering if you could build a small A frame out of PVC and set it on top of the roof. You could then lay the tarp over the roof and should have enough space between for ventilation. You would still have to tie it all down though.

If most of the water is out and you only have a half inch or so, I wouldn't worry.
If you're really concerned, you can pour a half gallon of RV anti freeze in the tank, but will need to flush it out in the spring.

The battery doesn't need to come out as long as it is fully charged.
A fully charged battery won't freeze, a partially charged, or dead battery will.
It will last longer if you keep it connected to a smart charger, or maintainer, if you have no power at the trailer and it is easy to remove, bringing it home and keeping it on a charger is a good idea.

As for the water i wouldn't worrie tell next spring then add some bleach cap full and wash it out good no soap :? :? As for the battery get a trickle charger (I like the green lighting one) and hook it up and it will be ready for you 8). If you got a generator add fuel stabilizer and run it for 15 min before putting it away for the winter and if you can crank it once a month.
