I usually tell my clients to add a fatty acid suppliment to the diet. It helps for a nice shiny coat.

You get your advice for shiny wood and I have a post for shiny fiberglass. I think there's a poll on it somewhere, but I think wood surfaces has fiberglass surfaces outnumbered by a lot here.

My 2 cents ... 2-3 generous layers of epoxy (to add depth), sand perfectly smooth, then add 4-5 coats of high gloss spar varnish.

Lots of work ... but definitely worth it.

He can't help himself -- he likes cats.

However, the secret to a real gloss, IMO, is not what you use, but how patient you are.

It takes several coats of whatever you use, with fine sanding between every coat, to really get a dazzling finish.

The more patient you are, the more impressive the finish. That is why my TD is a flat tan.

Don't know about best, but this is what 3 coats of CPES and 3 coats of gloss spar varnish looks like.

I did the front door of my old house with a Spar from HD, and it was disappointing. I've heard great things about Rot Doctor products from other folks on this board.

I got all my supplies at Jamestown Distributor. West Systems epoxy 4 coats, Captains Varnish 4 coats. You don't have to put to many coats on at first because you will be putting on subsequent coats in the near future for further protection.That would depend on how you store and use your trailer. And yes there is a lot of sanding. Wayne

A couple of questions for you:
- what types of timber did you use, and
- how did you get that very constant looking radius on the edge?
