Infamous FEMA trailers to Haiti?

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Miriam C. » Sat Jan 30, 2010 9:41 am

Andrew today both governments would get in the way. The problem with Louisiana was the state government wouldn't give permission for the Feds to come in.

There were supplies in rout to Haiti but no way to land them because we have a soft generation with no sense of ingenuity. Besides someone higher up would have to make that call now wouldn't they.

Wouldn't it have been faster to go in and drill wells? Don't we already have the geologic surveys needed!

We air dropped food in Afghanistan but not Haiti.

Hey if there is no food, what are all those people living on? There is food in the slums.

the formaldehyde in those trailers have long since out gassed from the material it was applied too..all they have to do is open the windows and let them air out for some days and they will be good as new.

the people that got sick in Mississippi were more then likely highly sensitive to the chemicals used in the construction of those trailers.
as for where do they use formaldehyde?...think carpets and plywood.

From here. Log prices are at an all time low. Mills are having a rough time. Lots of people out of work that work in the woods. I've joked about building houses out of wood in Haiti to make jobs in the woods for our people.

Why not send teardrops? They could , at least, get them there at a smaller cost. Plus it would be "cooler". It's warm enough to be outside for cooking.
