Our first 100 of 2010...

According to Weather Underground, it is officially 99.7 degrees in Frisco, but on my front porch, it is exactly 100.0 degrees. :sweaty:

That's a bit early in the summer for 100 degrees.

It snowed four times this winter, and now we have hot dry summer starting early. What's next, swarming locusts?

I'll trade you 5 degrees for a half inch of rain...the veggie garden looks like a dried flower warehouse. :( It's been a day or two shy of seven weeks now.

It's been really dry here, too. I have to water the herbs and veggies every day. May is typically our wettest month, but I'd guess we were at less than half our normal this May.

There's a chance of rain tomorrow. :worship:

Not much of an issue in when in Palm Springs and the humidity level is down near 15% or less...

But out in your neck-O-the-wo0ds the humidity is literally oppressive. You have my condolences. What is the percent humidity?

Just looked on weather dot com... as of right now (over an hour later in the day) it's 92 in Frisco... feels like 94... w/ 42% humidity... so you're probably not completely miserable. Just a little...

Look at the bright side: Thunderstorms are predicted from 7 to 9 tonight!

Predicting and appearing of thunderstorms in Texas are two different things - Want to know for sure - stick your hand outside - If it comes back in wet - then it's raining!

:Oh Brother:

You mean to say that when they say there's a 30% chance of thunderstorms, there's a 70% chance that they're wrong?

I don't know where weather.com got their reading, but it wasn't Frisco. Probably Addison Airport, 25 miles away. A place with trees. Weather Underground actually tells you where their reading, and it is within five miles of my house.

Out humidity here is not as bad as Houston's, but 40-50 percent is about right.

Right now, it is raining, and a T-storm is building over Frisco. But, the is hitting the ground and drying faster than it is falling. Zero runoff. I'm hoping this storm will really blossom -- it looks promising on the radar, so far, but it could dry up just as fast as it developed around here.

About 40 miles West of here, they are getting a pretty good storm.

At least the lakes are all full, so we shouldn't have water rationing until mid August. Frisco has very strict lawn watering regulations, even when there is not a drought, but Plano to the south of us doesn't. Frisco and Plano get water from the same lakes. Those folks figure you can't run out of water unless you run out of money. Water conservation is a liberal conspiracy to take away their right to a golf course level lawn.

I realize that humidity levels in Phoenix have risen on average w/ the increased population and water useage... but, overall, I would think that Texas! It's A Whole 'Nuther Country!'s humidity levels are much higher. More humidity = more misery.

:scratchthinking:

Probably.

Either way, neither place is safe to be outside for very long in high summer without a lot of water and shade...

I go to Phoenix a few time a year, and I don't understand why people live there. Yeah, it's dry heat -- but it's a dry 115 f---ing degrees. I have to do my photo shoots at the crack of dawn or melt.

The only thing I like about Scottsdale in August is that I can stay at a top-notch resort for 75 bucks a night, and get a massage for 40 bucks. You're looking at quadruple that in the winter.

CD, is that early for 100 degrees.

We've had 93 one day then 55 the next. It's hard to keep up.

What's the average for TX in June?
