I'm planning to skin the exterior with Masonite. Am I dreaming to think I can get 1/8" Masonite around a 6" radius bend? I heard somewhere that if you thoroughly dampen the back side with a spray bottle and form it in stages, you can get a pretty tight radius. Never tried it myself.

So whaddyall think?

It's just for hauling luggage, tools, beer cooler, EZ-Up, etc. to hot rod meets, car shows, etc. I may build a camper later.

Ahhh...now I remember.

Looks COOL!

Are you going to skin it to match your rod?

Yeah, my plan is to have them match. Haven't decided yet on how I want to paint the rod. Leaning towards something pretty traditional, probably black with flames.

Le as for the masonite, try to do a search at the top of the page and you will find pros and cons.

That will be awsome Lee. Hope I see you at some shows next season, I usually hit 5 or 6 a year. The T looks great also, I've wanted one for years.

Oh, by the way, I did search the forum for Masonite, as HVM suggested. Kinda depressing. I was gonna use Masonite cuz I figgered it would bend easy and it has a nice smooth finish for painting. I may switch to ply. Gotta go see what's available at HD and Lowe's.

Good luck, I couldn't find anything less than 1/4in at the big boxes. I was able to get 1/8in ply at a local independent store. I wanted to support them so I got most of my ply there.

Why don't you just skin it with .040 alum. Except for the sides, no masonite or ply required. Your not worried about comfort so why not. And it would be lighter when finished. Beings how your going to paint it, maintaining the appearence will be just the same as the T-bucket. Just my thought.

Have a good day.
