We plan on using two triangular drop-down drawers in our front cabinet for shoes. They will have a wire hanger with water-proof liners. We use slip-on deck shoes or flip-flops around camp, anything that doesn't hold on to mud.

Regards,

Dave

I thought that PVC tube with cap was a creative idea.
Nice.

OK, I finally solved my shoe problem. Here is what I came up with. Container Store had a plastic storage tub that fit inside a basket. They were not made for each other but they fit snugly together. The shelf is made out of oak strips and dowel rods. Now I have a place for wet shoes or towels etc.

Here is the basket with the insert and the old rubber maid tub I was using.
This is why everyone says you are never finished building a Teardrop.

I have a 12 inch carpeted area next to my bed on the side of my TD that I get in and out of. I put my wet shoes there.

I would leave them outside, but I have this phobia about small critters getting into them, and finding them when I put the shoes on. We have a wide variety of spiders that bite with nasty consequences.

If I know it is going to rain, I put an EZ-Up over my TD so I have a nice porch outside my door. I take my shoes off, and set them on the carpet where they dry. If it is too muddy to bring them inside, I can put my boots on top of my fenders under the EZ-Up. If I have to do that, I stuff something into them, to keep critters out.

I keep a pair of Crocs in my TD, too. If I have to go out at nigh, I put them on, and when I get back inside, I can dry them off with a towel.

Yea guys, I have an Ez-up but it only covers the galley area. Next I will figure out a way to cover the door areas. I have some ideas using marine hand rails and fittings. I don't want any guide wires to the ground to trip over. I keep a pair of flip flops under the trailer for easy on use. But if it rains I hate sitting in the doorway taking off wet shoes as it rains in. So as Slow says it's never finished.

This is my setup with the Ez-up on.

We always carry a roll of contractor bags for many such instances .... and some sacrificial towels (old) for mopping up ... that goes in a bag too till it can be dealt with ... Always rains around here...
