Easter Trip

Postby Steve F » Tue Apr 26, 2011 1:03 am

So we had 5 days of camping at Easter and plenty of fun in the Jeep doing tracks.

Anyway, it was the first time I got to properly test my Solar and without even taking the 167W panel off the roof I was getting 6AMP (Via the MPPT regulator) into the battery with the sun shining, I have a nice LED display that connects to the regulator and tells you what the panel is putting out and what is going into the battery etc. The 30A was on the ground to make the most of the sun. So the pics.

Still setting up but had to take a pic since it was the first time it was all used :)

And some of the Jeep, I have no pics of it on the trails waiting for others to send me those.

Me giving a mate a hard time as e had to bring his little Jeep, every pic I took with my XJ in it I accentuated the difference ;)

My son waiting for us to get moving.

Looks like you have your own small city there! Nothing better then camping and wheeling. Thanks for posting the pictures, you've got a great setup there. Got any "XXXX" in the Eskie Hamper? Goes down good after a day on the trails!

They have a little phrase about 'XXXX', they called it that because Queenslanders cant spell 'BEER' ;)

In saying that I had XXXX and VB (Victoria Bitter) both nice as long as they are icey cold.

Yea Steve , I know what you mean. We spent a few weeks in Australia in 1998. When we found a favorite beer and moved to a different Province the bartenders would say "Never heard of it Mate" . But we just spent all last week drinking it , what do you mean. It took a few moves to figure out that each Province made their own beer and did not acknowledge the others brew. It was really a good thing looking back as we got to try all kinds of new beers. We were even able to get some imported "Miller Lite" in a few places.
We had a great time in your country. Super nice people and a beautiful country. Some day I will come back. Being an 18 hour flight it took 3 days to get the feeling back in my rear end. So to anyone that goes there stay as long as you can.
