Okay Teardrop and Tiny Travel Trailer campers, post up if you are in the storm ravaged states in this round of spring mayhem.

Let us know you are okay.

I hope everyone is ok. I know we have been through the ringer here. Or maybe we need to have a run through the ringer if it will ever quit raining.. 2 episodes of tornatic damage here. Had all the shingles stood up and a few blown off, Neighbor had a pile of pine trees on his pop up and his wife's 69 mustang convertible, Lost 1/3 of the hay barn along with a complete destruction of a corn crib over on the farm along with numerous trees. That was episode one. A few days later, My wife's Grandfather had all the maple trees around his house stacked in the yard within inches of the house, the shingles lifted, and a historic barn from the 1800's destroyed along with a few other buildings damaged. That was episode 2. now they are saying we are in for it tonight! I hope this climax is a sign of the end of this thing!

C-Dog, I noticed on Weather.com this afternoon that the entire weather quadrant southeast of DFW all the way to the Louisiana border had some extremely scary looking areas -- a lot of large red areas on the weather map. Did it pass over your area earlier?

We are in the opposite situation--dry as a bone with scary extreme fire danger here in central Texas. Not a drop for us the last two days.

Thinking about all of you who are dealing with rain, wind, hail and tornadoes--stay strong and safe.

JuneBug, where I live, everything is fine. We mostly got a lot of much needed rain. It was hit and miss on the severe stuff. For the most part, people in the DFW area got hail damage, if they got any damage.

That's the thing about this kind of weather -- one guy can get wiped out, while another guy five miles away gets a little rain. That's why I started this thread -- so our fellow campers can tell us they are okay, and we can all be happy.

We've been very fortunate - T'storms with LARGE hail, Tornadoes, & very strong straight line winds all around us but little to no damage in our immediate area. Wife didn't even want to watch a movie last evening, she kept the TV on local weather coverage so we could run for the 'hidey hole' of things got too rough ;) . Lotsa damage throughout the state, some loss of life :worship: , & according to the weather people this morning, it ain't over yet  . Kinda scary at times but lotsa other folks are havin' it much worse!

We're OK - but the area that we are moving to got hit real hard with tornadoes - I'll check later this afternoon on any damage. CD, the roof at Walmart in Gun Barrel City was ripped off!

:o Boy it looks like the whole Southern US is trying to have tornadoes. I hope you all are safe and under cover. If you don't have your TV or radio on you might want to do that. :worship:

My sis lives in Oxford MS and she got to see up close the inside of her center closet for an hour. Missed her house but got her husband's work place some.

Lots of heavy rain and high winds but not bad compared to most other areas. We still have tornado watches up for a couple more hours, but I think we should be fine.

Sure hope everyone in the bad areas are OK and safe.

After three days of rain, hail, wind and tornado sirens the sun is shining today and not a cloud in sight. Closest one touched down about 25 miles south. Mississippi River is at flood stage and expected to crest at 45 feet May 10th as all the water makes its way south. (A couple of the casinos in Tunica evacuated due to rising water.) When I lived in New York tornadoes were not something we were too concerned about. This is the first time in the seven years since I moved south that we have had warnings three days in a row. It's a little un-nerving. Still waiting to hear from a couple of friends around Mississippi and Alabama. Watched the YouTube video of the Tuscaloosa tornado; it was scary just watching. Hope I never have to experience it first hand.

I lived in one of towns hit by the tornado "Super Outbreak" of April 3, 1974. The "Saylor Park" tornado, which traveled through tree different states, and came though my neighborhood.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOHkyM6CC-c

148 tornadoes were confirmed and 330 people were killed in that 1974 outbreak. Up until this week, that was a record.

This new outbreak is estimated to have spawned at least 100 tornadoes with an estimated 250 killed.

When all the damage is analyzed, April 2011 will almost certainly set a record for the number of tornadoes in the month of April. It could also set a record for any month, though storm reports will have to be combed through before meteorologists will know this for sure. (LiveScience.com)

Awakened again this time at at 4 AM with the weather radio alarm and warning of flooding and winds of 60mph and now have lake front property (we live on 10mile creek) but nothing like what is happening south of us. Talked with a NOAH scientist last year (you have seen him on TV) Global Warming, yep better expect a lot more of this from time to time.
My prayers are with all of you!
