over 20 inches of rain

Postby doitright » Wed Apr 27, 2011 1:01 pm

Had to just shout out over 20" of rain in two weeks and it is 53 year old and no leaks. That is my camper has no leaks. My rear door Scotty will be 53 years in May. Just wish I was camping in it this weekend. The storms and all the rain stopped so I checked Itty bitty, she is dry and ready to go. Had trees on house, another on wife's car and several in the back yard down but the Scotty is just fine. Problem is my wife wants the campers parking spot.

I like that camper. I looked at the plans for a similar design before starting my build. I think the lines of your camper go rather nicely with my Subaru forester.

Steve, Yes it is a very nice and simple made camper that is why I love it.

Miriam, Thanks we did make it how did you fare?

Slow, Most of the rain was with straight line winds some of the winds were over 70 mph and lasted for 30 min. they were the ones that got the trees.

I thank God are safe and pray for the so many that were not as lucky. There have been so many people that have lost there lives during the last three weeks of storms.

Egg man how do you measure wind in inches. ???

Doitright: Don't feel alone I travel 25 miles to work on mostly county roads and this AM I had the road underwater in 9 places. They were fordable but you had better be dead slow crossing. There were a couple cars that had apparently hit them duing the night at speed and were setting out in the fields after losing control.

Sorry about your trees but if ya look at the bright side there will be fewer leaves to rake this fall :laughter:

53 years old and no leaks!!!!! Man I wished I could say that about myself.

And this week I came down with gout. It woke me up at 2:30 am this morning and can't work now.

Now I really am a grumpy old fart.

You can measure wind in inches of H20 or Mercury. It's kinda a subjective thing depending on your apparatus. I have a meter that measures 1 inch full scale.

Cheers,

Gus

Hoooo Eeeeee SlowC.

You remind me of my younger days. I am sure glad I don't have pictures to remind me of it. I liked in the winter when the "green blizzard" would freeze up in my mustache with the exhaled breath to make a big gross green......thing on the upper lip.

Man I tell you those where the days.
