ITG4 approaching Fast

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Postby Gage » Sun Jun 05, 2011 4:34 pm

Just come on in Rocky. Are you planning on getting there late Friday night or early Saturday morning? I'll tell George you guys are coming and see if we can get a spot for you before you get there so you'll have a spot to go to. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.

This is what the ITG is all about. Seeing friends you only get to see maybe once a year and meeting up with forum members that you only talk to on the internet. Everything else is like added icing on the cake.

Rocky...are you hauling the "egg"? If he does, no one wants to miss one of his briskets. It was a major hit at the IRG 3.0. Great chance to show all your moves from the BBQ class. Doug

Hello Everyone,

The trip is approaching fast, we are leaving on friday after work for New Orleans for a few days of enjoying the sites and the good food, prior to our arrival to ITG-4. I decided to create a Blog to document our trip. I hope we can share plenty of pictures and good experiences during this trip. If you select my www button on my comment you can go to my blog and read our comments and view pictures.

Cheers,

Ed

We'll be headed out Saturday morning around 9:00. Going to spend Tuesday night in Sidney, NE before going on in to Minden. Got to do that last minute shopping at Cabela's and besides they have a nice campground. See you all at Minden.

Google says that it's a 6hr trip so I figure that we'd get there around 7:00 or 8:00. I still haven't contacted George or Pioneer Village.

Just thought I would post to anyone coming from the north. If you are planning on taking I-29 there is a detour in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area due to flooding. And also on I-29 in Sioux City, Iowa there is road construction and flooding and they are ticketing people for stopping along the interstate to view the flooding.
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

Thanks for the heads up, Aaron. That is exactly the way we were planning on going Thursday morning. I think now we will continue over to highway 77 then head south from there.

See everyone at the Gathering.

Safe travels everyone!

Looking forward to seeing old friends & meeting new ones!

Don't forget to bring your muscles, bowls & spoons for the ice cream social on Saturday, 1:00pm. As at ITG1 & ITG2, we will be hand cranking home made ice cream using my great grandfather's 8 gallon freezer. WooHoo!

Don't forget your mosquito repellent !!! I have been battling them here all weekend.

Is there an agenda somewhere? Two years ago there was a DO demonstration, and I thought about bringing my aebleskiver pan if anyone wants a demo on making those.

I'm bringing my wife down to try to convince her we need a teardrop. I know Minden isn't large but where is all the activity going on. Doug

At Pioneer Village in the camp ground. If you like simple camping and with new and old friends. A Gathering is the way to go. Saturday would be the best day to go or you could rent a hotel room.

It doesn't look like we are going to make it this year. We left the house Saturday morning headed for Minden but only got as far as Seligman, AZ. Had some breathing issues and ended up turning around and going back home.

It wasn't planned. Seems like I'm worst off than what I want to admit to myself. :(

Sorry you were unable to make it. Know that you guys are missed! You are an integral part of the ITG lore. :)

Take care of yourself so we can chat with you again around the campfire!
