If you are staying close to Branson Tablerock Lake has Cricket Creek, stayed there this May. It's just over the state line in Arkansas. Here's some photos I took.

It's really nice and the sites by the water, 6, 7, 9,and 11 are very nice.

Very good 3G internet coverage also.

If Minnesota state Park open up, most are nice.

Chester Woods County Park near Rochester, Mn.

I really like Mark Twain Lake, Indian Creek Recreation Area near Monroe City, Mo. 63456 About 40- 50 miles west of Hannibal, Mo.

Army Core of Engineer campgroud. Nice large sites, clean facilities, reasonable rates.

If you want to be close to Branson and Silver Dollar City,Indian Point camp ground is good. Its right on the lake.Turn into the entrance to Silver Dollatr City and keep driving out on Indian Point you'll run right into it.
A little further out is Kimberling City camp ground.South of there and alot more secluded is Baxter camp ground. Our favorite is Campbell Point about 30 mi SE of Branson near Shell Knob,it's central located as we like to go to Eureka Springs AKA little Switzerland home of the Pasion Play and Christ of the Ozarks.it is 30 mi south of Shell Knob.Spent nearly every vaction in my youth camping and ridding motocycles in that area.
Have Fun.

Do you like to canoe/kayak? There are many places along the Meramec, Current, Jacks Fork rivers. I also love Johnson's Shut-Ins state park.

Mill Creek - Tablerock Lake is pretty nice. On the water and the facilities are wonderful. Now that is if they are recovered from the flooding!

Good to see you back Miriam,Mill Creek must be the new one I've heard about.where is it from Branson/Kimberling City.
I've heard about the flooding, saw a picture of the Shell Knob bridge with water almost touching the bottom. That would be deep.I think the last time,in 2008? it was 3 or 4 ft from the bottom of the bridge, there is a picture of that on the Campbel Point web site.

Here are some Branson area campground reviews. I don't know when you were planning to go. I hope these aren't too late. Scroll to the bottom of the page, when you click this link:

Lake of the Ozarks state park for a stop on the way or the way home. It is my favorite place in Missouri, except Branson.
