Adding an air conditioner

Here is a link to Planovet's build. Specifically, the AC. Very helpfull. He has his vented down, but out the side is the same concept.

SC there is no way you can run any thing other than a swamp cooler with DC. Just too much of a power draw for any thing using a compressor. The good news is that you can use a swamp cooler with low humidity which is a good bit of where you are.
The math, Assuming your airconditioner and inverter works at 110v the unit will draw about 3.9amp at 110v which is 429 watt to get 429 watt at 12 volt will use about 36 amps which will likely give you less than 2 hrs on the typical deep cycle battery.

Slow, its called a generator.


With a little practical applications engineering, you could build a gas powered AC with a small gas engine, a compressor, condenser, and evaporator from a car, a couple fans on a shaft...

out in wyoming we have no drop cords when camping.
