Venting

I note alot of builders use fantastic vents in their builds. From my research I understand these are incredibly efficient extraction fans.

My question is if I install one do I need to install inlet vents to promote air flow? If so I would appreciate some guidance as to where and what to install?

I was planning to use windows that open in my doors. Crack the windows and turn the fan on!

(that and I doubt my tear will be 100% tight)

That'll work! During the day our curtains are 'tucked & folded' up over the curtain rod, windows usually open a few inches. When we go to bed we lower the curtains & if needed turn the fantastic fan on (low). The fan draws air thru the windows & the the curtains 'deflect' some airflow downward on us. We have a PetCool AC but seldom use it except in extremely hot/humid conditions. The fantastic fan drawing in the cooler air thru the door windows works very well - most nights we hafta turn the fan off sometime during the morning hours, too cool... :D

...I LOVE MY FANTASTIC FAN...we do exactly the same as Harvey(even use the PetCool the same)...the FF can be a bit much at times, even on low...there are several threads on making speed controllers for them, so as to slow 'em down even more..................

We have a fantastic fan vent, with two computer case fans and we open the windows less power draw, quieter, and 100 CFM each.

ANY vent system (fan) needs "make up air".... If you do not have any make air (open window/door/dedicated inlet), fan tends to draw down cabin area into slight vacuum (low pressure area) until fan can not over come vacuum to move air .... IF cabin is air tight enough, air flow stops, and fan system is useless....
