Okay Folks,
That was close!!

You almost Kilt the "Dead thread"!! Fear not the Knight in white armor has arrived just in the nick of time and the thread is saved...

Good morning to all! Coffee is good and breakfast is cooking. My shift does not start until 5pm today. We are still sunny and HOT and the temps should reach into the mid to high 90s for the day.

Please be careful and remain safe if you are in the path of the storm!!

So here I sit. It is around 8:30p and I am awaiting the arrival of the Hurricane they call Irene. It has been raining - very mildly since around 10:30a but not much happening - they (the evil ones) tell us to feel the brunt of this storm in the overnight hours. We can get anywhere between 1- 3 inch of rain and wind gusts over 50mph. Let's see what happens. So far a quite night.............

It has gotten a little windy here.. warm and humid air.. but we have some time yet.. I have been gone all day. I have some outdoor furniture I should pick up.. and fill some water containers.. We are expecting a bit of rain and some wind.. but nothing too serious wind wise..

Hey Bill, One of the members at BBQ-Brethren Forums works for Home Depot in purchasing. He said Kingsford two packs will be on sale staring this Thursday for Labor Day weekend.

The sale will be two-packs of 23LB bags for nine dollars in most stores. Go early, because heavy BBQ-ers like me will be stocking up, and the sale price is "while quantities last."

It shouldn't be too bad for you. Although, we have had some remains of hurricanes come through Dallas and do some pretty good damage. Most damage is from things blowing -- like patio furniture and trash cans -- that people left outside.

Ike did serious damage all the way into Arkansas. :o

I be back............

The Thread Lives... and lives on forever....

Not much damage from the storm they called Irene. Love watching the evil ones back track and we have very little impact from it but OMG I am glad I don't live in Vermont...

here at the house we weathered the storm pretty well.. I have a ton of little branches on the lawn.. it will take hours to pick them all up.. out on my trails.. there is a bit more.. I do have some bigger stuff to clean up.. that will be a longer process.. perhaps all fall... intermingled with other work.

Other places around not so good. at one point 3/4's of the state was without power.. although the bigger problem was flooding. We have bridges out..and other places where roads are gone...

We have had great weather since.. making clean up and repairs easier.. 8)

Glad that you made it through all right!!
I heard of the other damage in your area and my prayers go out to all those effected by the storm.

We still have HOT weather here with mid to high 90s although we have had some sea breezes to make things bearable.

Glad that Md. did not get hit so hard this time.

Make it a great day where you are!
