How much?

Postby Phillyboi » Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:16 pm

Ok. I want to build a small(!) standard teardrop on the order of the Aussie teardrop that's in the Hall of Fame here. Using standard plywood construction and the HF trailer, anyone want to ballpark what I can expect to lay out in materials?

Given that it's approaching end of season, cheaper to buy?

Welcome to the forum! There was just another person asking this same question. A teardrop only has to cost as much as you want it to. There are so many variables. Wood choice (oak vs white), finishing (paint vs aluminum), doors (build vs buy), etc.

I initially built my convertible for about $1500, but have put about 300-500 more in it since its completion a year and a half ago. Read up on here about the different methods to the madness, and you may get a better idea of what you may look at spending.

Good luck!
