Teardrop for Concessions(?)

Postby Alfred » Fri Sep 16, 2011 10:12 am

Hi All,

I have thought before that a teardrop would make an interesting concession trailer - like at a festival, flea mart or carnival. Then a friend of mine the other day mentioned out-of-the-blue that a teardrop could be used for concessions.

I don't think it would be the most ideal set-up, compared to a traditional concessions trailer, but it would have an "attention-getting" factor.

I could see someone selling specialty coffee or something, perhaps, out of the galley. One would have to incorporate an easy-up canopy and a folding table, I would think. Cabin could be used for storage.

I would not have the time/energy for such an enterprise, at this point. But curious if anyone has ever used a teardrop or similar trailer for concessions?

Hey Greg,

Yeah, something like that. I was thinking with the back hatch open and a concession out of the galley, but a taller teardrop would allow a more traditional concession.

I think using a galley/canopy/table setup as a concession stand would definitely have a positive response...the server is at the level of the customer, rather than looking down on them, and the "unique" factor would gather some attention.

You'd have some setup/takedown time issues that a normal concession trailer wouldn't have, but assuming you're not trying to be a moving target, that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Hey Cliff,

Yep. That's just the sort of thing I was thinking of...Interesting modifications to the galley for purpose of hot dogs, too.

Great idea!! I have a mobile T shirt business that I take to car shows. I plan to set up my equipment in the galley and keep my supplies in the cabin. That way I can attend the car show with my 52.

This could be a new meaning to Roadkill Cafe feeding and cleaning up 1 street at a time

Well it finally happened. I went to my first car show with my teardrop loaded with my T Shirt concession. When I got there they told me I couldn't use the teardrop in the street to do the concession so I had to set up across the sidewalk next to a local business instead. :x :x :x It work out OK but I was disappointed I couldn't use the galley as the shop.
