In case anyone is wondering, the myth concerned a scene from the movie Red.
John Malkovich's character is shot at with a RPG from about 80 feet away. As the rocket is flying towards him, he shoots at the RPG hits it about 20 feet away and not only sets it off but creates a back blast that engulfs the other shooter.
Well the myth is busted, yes the bullet can set off an RPG mid flight but there is no back blast and if John was in the right spot a blast of molten copper would be shooting through his body.
The trailer just happened to be something handy to shoot at. Its funny, as it was happening I was wondering if the trailer chassis would survive and could be used to make a new TD.

It actually wasn't in that bad a shape. A RPG is not an explosive weapon in the conventional sense. It creates a confined blast of hot metal and gasses to burn through what it hits not blow it up. The tires looked untouched.
Still I have never really seen a RPG shot in that way.
Really Blowed up good.
